Because of the smoke in CA we decided to head to AZ. Made a stopover in Lake Havasu City. We called in the morning to make a reservation here and the gentleman said “when are you coming?” To which I responded that we would be there in 5-6 hours and we are on our way right now. He confirmed that there were indeed a couple of spots available that would accommodate both us in our trailer and my parents and their trailer. Then he said “I don’t like to make reservations because I don’t like to take deposits.” So I said that that was fine but believing that he would keep a couple of spots open for us. He also mentioned that people don’t show up and he doesn’t like to have to refund the deposits. I assured him that we were indeed en route and on our way and he said OK. So, We show up in the evening and the office is closed. I call the number of the “resort” and he answers saying that they are all booked up. I explain that I called him earlier to confirm availability and that he told me not to make a reservation and deposit for the site because HE didn’t want to. He said “well Havasu Falls has some sites open.” No apology or sorry for the inconvenience. So that’s exactly where we went and we LOVED it! They were friendly, accommodating and they have after hours sites where you pull in and pay the next morning or do the Dropbox thing. They let us check out late and their sites were paved (unlike prospectors) And the facilites awesome! Right off the highway too! Prospectors looked like a lot full timers, was off the main highway and the man there obviously didn’t seem to care about how his actions affect others so we will continue to give our business to Havasu Falls!

Wasn’t a planned stop, our truck broke down so we needed a place near the dealership. I found this campground (called 3) chose this one because he answered the phone, answers my questions and it seemed reasonable. They have a clubhouse, free WiFi only in clubhouse, washers & dryers, pool and hot tub. Gravel lots, with concrete and picnic table, fairly level. They have a lot of long term residents here. Full hookups, cable, game & fitness room, horseshoes and dog run. Even have furnished apartments for rent. But we didn’t check all that out. Friendly, offer weekly specials. Close to airport and downtown and the London Bridge. Fairly quiet, also close to lake and lots of off roaring, 4 wheel trails. Only about 2 bars on Verizon. We use booster and I need good internet for work. Close to historic Route 66! Great location as there is a lot to do around here if you were passing between California and Arizona or other states.
LorettaL would stay here again

Lack of enforcement with day users on beaches within campgrounds taking away campers spaces on the beach!.
