Stayed mid week in the Pines campground. I had made a reservation but the camp was basically empty . Sites very clean. Most are level. Site 55 looks like it has a bit of a slope. Only toilets, no shower, no dump station. There’s a water spout to fill up tanks etc. Easy short walk to lake. Kayaks for rent.

The road to get to the park was not very well maintained. The road to camp sites was worse. Sites are not maintained very well as far as over growth of trees.

This would be a five star review except for the roads in the park. We stayed in the Pickerel Point campground for three days. Nice site, very clean. Clean modern bathrooms with showers. Our site only had electric although full service sites are available. The cell service was spotty. Nice hikes, Great Lake, pretty spots.

We were traveling through the area so we stayed just one night. This is one of the nicest state parks we’ve ever visited. Getting to this SP is fairly easy from Interstate 84. It was a bit confusing to figure out where our campground loop was (we weren’t familiar with the park), so stopping by the ranger station during weekday hours would be helpful. Just be aware of what loop your campsite is on and you should be able to navigate to it. Beechwood Loop was beautifully paved, including the campsites, and generally flat. The park was super clean, well maintained – almost manicured. Sites were electric only. The bathhouse was pretty new, very clean and lots of showers and toilet stalls. The bathhouse even had an area to wash kitchen dishes outside and a laundry facility. Sites are exactly the length quoted online (no more and no less) so plan accordingly. We enjoyed being in a “non pet” loop. Park rangers regularly patrolled the CG. The dump station was located at an easy-to-access spot as you entered/left the Beechwood Loop. There were a couple pull-thru spots on each end of the loop for really large rigs. There were a number of 5th wheels and other large trailers on the Beechwood Loop and they were pretty squeezed into their spots. Our travel trailer is about 25’ so we fit nicely into our site. We were in the area on a weekday in late August so it was very quiet. Verizon signal was spotty. I highly recommend this campground.

We’re staying for two nights mid-week, so weekends may be different. The campground is easy to get to, but take it slow in the park because there are several tight spots, some on curves, that are not wide enough to accommodate two large RVs without one going onto the dirt.
The one bathouse in the loop is clean and enough for the amount of campers currently here, but I could see things being much different if the sites were full.
The sites are mostly shaded, slightly sloped and relatively close to each other. They do a good job trying to leave some green buffer between most spots. Unlike many parks, I would not try to squeeze into a spot reported as being any smaller than the full length of your RV, including hitch/bike rack/etcetera. They were not generous with sizing.
There are some very nice hiking/biking trails throughout the park and a short distance from the campground. I highly recommend you download maps before hitting the trails as connectivity was virtually nonexistent and the trails are great to explore with numerous intersections.
Finally, the price for our spot with electric only (a few water spigots are dispersed throughout the loops) was $34, but there’s also a $6.50 transaction fee to reserve online.

Spent one night in early October as a layover. Very quiet, clean restrooms, hot showers. Sites were tight in the Northwoods section with not much privacy. If staying longer we would try for A spot in the Pickeral Point are of the park for beautiful lake views and access to the water from most sites. Nice hiking/walking within the park.

And 168 electricity only problem is the dump station entrance we pull a 35 foot 5th wheel and the exit is very narrow getting in is ok going in but turning to come out isn't possible there is a loop thu an tent camping only area but the loop is tight with metal poles on the inside of each turn. We made it but it was tight.
For tent camping or with a smaller rig this is a beautiful we maintained camp ground.

I have been coming to Promised Land State Park for 15 years. Its a great park. lots of activities for the family. A wonderful spot that is out of it enough, but still busy in the summer. I normally stay at the primitive cabins but this time did the camping at pickerel point. The sites down toward the beach are close together, up toward the road not as much. Deer Field is smaller and closer together but more on a hill in the forest. The Pines is probably the best one. Its in the woods, not as popular and the sites a are spread out. (more of a walk to the bath house) Pickerel point has very little cell service. Only enough to send texts. Water sports, great hiking trails, very clean park, great staff, also just a great place to come to for the day. One thing to note is parking is extremely limited on pickerel point, so if you have more than one car for a walk in site it will be tough...
