Delightful park!
Friendly hosts and great atmosphere.
Amenities range from dry camping ($7.00) in the North "recreational camping" area (near fishing ponds) to a few full hook ups, most are water and electric ($15.00). Sites are gravel and a little close together but easy to get in & out of, includes picnic table and fire ring. Bathrooms/showers are clean and dump station is at the park's entrance. Lots of open space, picnic areas, disc golf course and miles of well kept trails. Entire park is very well kept and clean.

This campground is amazing! They have Frisbee golf, dancing weekends, volleyball, fishing, hiking, horse shoes, camping cook outs. Christmas in July, and many other camping events. Yes, the local Pizza Ranch will deliver so you don't "have" to cook Friday night. They also have permanent campsites and permanent weekend campsites. (call the park at 1-641-485-1623 for prices.) Fishing is in the North segment of the park. These are man made ponds with a "small boat" access, trolling motors only. There is also a small beach area on the North side, or you can swim at the Ackley pool. You can choose to camp on the North side or South side. The North side is more primitive with only an outhouse, but they do have electrical sites and water hook ups. There is also a shelter house for rent in the "back 40", 2 shower houses and 2 playgrounds. This is a very "kid friendly" park, bring your bikes! There is a paved bike trail going through the prairie area. golf carts are also allowed to get around. If you want to camp during the holidays, please book early as there are a lot of regular campers in this park and they tend to book a year in advance.
