We had a long enough back-in site with water and power. It was mostly secluded from the other campers, so I liked it. The sites in the back loop are away from most of the big groups & families. I sort of pictured having a lake view, but the CG is in an area set back from the water. Nice bathhouse & laundry facilities!

Watch your GIS going to this park, it will send you to the golf course 5 miles further north, when the park is really close to town on the right. Gate coming in & going out is really tight. Check-in booth has daily visitors routed by the check in window so RV traffic needs to stop and walk up to the booth. Seems backwards to me. All of the spaces in the front section are really close to the road and close together. there are 5 spaces in the back area that are very private and have loads of room. We stayed in space 40, a long pull through space both going out to Arizona and coming home. Park was pretty quiet even though lots of visitors walk the roads. Also note you can hear the highway and train at night. A couple of trails by the back area "Macon Ridge" and "Hardbottom" are good for walking pets. Be aware this is black bear habitat. On the way out we missed the dump station altogether. On the second trip we found it, but that didn't do much good as the drain had been elevated to almost the level of our pipe outlet invert so about 15% of our black and gray tanks couldn't drain out... Very bad design and it looks to have settled a bit. OK for any rig with a high outflow pipe, but not so for a lower travel trailer.

Arrived on a Friday, a holiday weekend in November, without a reservation. They circled which sites were available on the map for walk ins and I chose one. They took my Id, debit card and America the beautiful pass for the 50% discount. They then said I couldn’t reserve if I wasn’t 21+ which was not on their website, in any reviews, or on the rules and information board in front of us at the office. They called their superior who said I had to have a 21+ person call (from back home in NH) to reserve it for me that way. They did. We’re about 45 minutes in at this point. They indicated the site would be $25 per night when it was actually $33 due to it being a weekend. They did not give me any discount with my america the beautiful pass and did not attempt to resolve the issue when I brought it up. I paid $77 for 2 nights which is a lot for a car camper who doesn’t need electricity, etc, and was expecting it to be 50% off of $25/night or at most 50% off of $33/night. the women at the front desk were nice but the check in process was a nightmare. Sites are close together if you expect a campground, common distance if you’re used to rv parks. Pretty quiet. Felt safe for it being Louisiana which is one of the only reasons I stayed.

Nice groomed nature trails. Very clean campground. We didn’t use the restrooms so can’t comment on those. There are 4 pull through sites but those don’t have sewer. There’s a nice dump station available. There was a little bit of a hum during the night from something that sounded like an industrial plant. The park is gated at night but they’ll give you a code so you can get back in after hours. America the Beautiful passes holders get a 50% discount. We wish we could’ve stayed longer.

Great overnight stop, no need to unhitch. Nice playground for kids, and a laundry though I didn’t see it. $38 including taxes and reservation fee.
If I stayed again and needed a pull thru I would reserve site 42 which faces the woods and is private on one side.

Pull thru sites in the back, 5 or 6 of them, are like a private campground. Our spot overlooked the woods, very nice. Easy drive up from I20. We’ll stay here again for sure!!

All utilities worked well and bathroom was nice. There were a couple of short hiking trails in the park.
Just a stop over for us so we didnt explore the local area.
AT&T cell service was good, RSRP was -100 boosted to -75. Easy streaming from our phones.
