The only minus- when they say check in at 3:00pm, they mean it! Also, you can leave at anytime, but you can’t reenter between 9pm and 9am, so plan your outings accordingly. The sites are very spacious overall.

Gate attendants are very inattentive (in my opinion). They see you pulling up to the gate but make you wait until they are ready to talk to you and open the gate. Both in and out.
I wasn't offered a sit map or camping regulations. Maybe about 20 of us in the park.

We stayed here for several nights while making our way across Texas. We timed our arrival so we got there only 10 minutes prior to the reportedly strict 3pm check-in time, and lined up behind two other RVs. But the gate staff did start letting us in just a few minutes after we arrived.
Just past the entrance gate, you either turn right to get to the western set of loops (loops 3 through 6) or left to get to the two eastern loops (loops 1 and 2 ). We stayed in site 39 in loop 2, an end site on the inner side of that loop. All of the sites in loop 2 are driver-side back-in sites, with asphalt pads, charcoal-ready BBQ grills, fire pits, and covered picnic tables. Our site was level and more than long enough for both our 21-foot truck and 37-foot fifth wheel, but each site pad is wider at the front to allow vehicle parking next to the pad. If you need more parking than that, there’s a small parking lot on the west end of the loop. The water and electric hookups are near the back of the site. The sites on our side of the loop were spaced out a bit more than those on the lake side of the loop, but all of them are still what I would consider spacious. The outer edge of the loop road is lined with wooden pylons, so if you don’t want to deal with those while backing in, pick a site on the inner loop. Most of the sites on this loop are unshaded: loop 1 has more trees.
The campground is very quiet (no road noise) and is quite dark at night, with the only lighting provided by the nearby boat dock and the bathhouse. The bathhouse is clean and stylish, with the shower and bathroom stalls walled with thick stained barn wood, but the interior lighting is a bit dim: your eyes might need a moment to adjust if you’re coming in from a bright sunny day. There were three dumpsters on one corner of the loop. Loops 1 and 2 share a dump station located near the entrance to loop 1. I occasionally spotted deer during the overnight and pre-dawn hours, but they stayed away during the day. While there is no enclosed dog park, there was plenty of places to walk our dog.
In terms of cell service, the best speed I got on my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna was 6 Mbps down and 11 up, so I was able to work remotely and we were able to stream video with occasional buffering. The one speed test I ran on my 5G AT&T smartphone showed 31Mbps down and 3 up. As you might expect, there is no campground WiFi.
We enjoyed our stay, and would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

Sites are well spaced and the park was quiet. Only heard coyotes at night. Park is half empty during the week in December and January. Excellent AT&T cell coverage, all the bars of 5G. Streamed without a booster. About 50 HDTV channels came in.

A word of caution: they lock the gate at 9pm nightly. We had plans to meet up with some family in Austin, so left our Class C in the park and took our car. When we arrived back to the campground, we parked outside the gate and walked back to our site. It was no problem at all, in fact it was a beautiful moon-lit night, and we had let the staff know in advance. Just be sure to ahead if you leave the campground.

2) the exit gate is closed all day. you must speak to a gate attendant for them to open it. sometimes they leave and put up a sign that they'll be back and you just sit at the gate waiting to get out! i can understand coming in, but going out?
3) park ranger i encountered 3 times is surly and disrespectful.
4) camp hosts resent being approached for help.
5) sites are nice but not worth it when there are so many wonderful and welcoming ACE campgrounds
