“Large campsite right off road for exploring area”

Overall Rating

The area at the base of Porter Mountain was recently logged leaving sunny camping behind. It is near a local target shooting spot and OAV area so don't head here if silence is your thing.

Across the cattle guard there is a large open site to the left. This is unforutualy not very level for a big rig and it took quite awhile to level our 5th wheel. It was a great location for a solar rig or Starlink. Further to the left are a few smaller sites that would be good for a teardrop or van.

There also was some trash in the area, an old mattress and the like.

The road continues around the mountain, with smaller sites distributed along it. There is one large group site about a half mile down. The area around the mount is partly shady.

The area received 3 bars of Verizon and AT&T but with poor upload speeds.
