“Great spot to spend the night while travelling 'The Lonliest Road in America'”
Reviewed Sep 27, 2017
We took four days to travel west on US 50 from Utah to California. This is a lonely barren road across the Great Basin and there aren't many places to stop.
This is a tiny RV park on the east edge of the very small town of Austin NV. It is on the left just after you come down a very steep hill. After 3 nights of boondocking we needed to dump and recharge, and didn't want to drive all the way to Fallon (which is over 100 miles west).
There are 7 pull-through spaces with full hook-ups (including 50 amp) in a flat open area. There is a post as you come in with pay envelopes and a drop box. We went around the loop several times and finally chose site 5 as it was almost level. Even though it is right off the highway, there wasn't much traffic after dark so we didn't notice much traffic noise. We were the only ones in the park and never saw the owner. There are no other facilities like showers or laundry - just sites with hook-ups.
We did have two bars 'extended' on Verizon but our jetpack (wifi) did not work.
