Do I need to buy at Michigan Recreation Passport for a one night stay at Pontiac Lake State Park, I’m from out of state.

I'm pretty sure the answer is yes, but, if I remember correctly, there may have been options for a one night or annual pass. It has been a few years since I camped there.

Yes, a rec passport is required at all Michigan State Parks. I believe they are less than $20 for out of state campers, but they are good at all MI state parks for one year. The passport does not include nightly camping fees. Hope this helps!

Yes, like in other states, a day entry pass is required for state parks and recreation areas. IF staying more than a few days, an annual pass may pay for itself. See the link provided in the description above for details.
