I was here at the end of October.
The road coming in is pretty bumpy and if wet feels like you're gonna sink and get stuck. It rained a couple days prior and this is I think a four mile road. Thinking it has to get better I kept going. Thankfully I didn't get stuck. The site itself is great for having soul searching. It is super isolated and, when I was there, quiet. As a lone camper this place is straight out of a horror movie.
I came in traveling Southwest and my GPS took me out going SW. This was the most horrifying road I've ever seen and I have no idea how I made it. I thank my recently passed sister once on the other side. There were 1.5 ft pipes showing through one side of the road with some dirt on one end and pipe nearly fully exposed on the other. There were ditches to the left that I was sure that I was going to be stuck. Since the road was so narrow with nowhere to turn around I had to keep going. I traveled this road, route 4020, I believe, for 2 or 3 miles maybe. Toward the end it did level out and I told my RV, Mary, we will never take a narrow dirt road again! I also thanked my sister Pam for getting me outta there.
For this site I say travel at your own risk.

“A bit noisy from nearby timber operations, but otherwise quite nice and open.”

Travel northwest of Camden on Hwy 24 to Chidester, then southwest on Hwy 57 to corner of 57/76, turn onto 76 and immediately will see a dirt track on the left; enter and pick your spot in open woods. Some road noise, and some noise from cutting wood. Stayed 2 nights. 33.66605, -93.05682. May, 2020.
Travelin-Tortuga would stay here again
