Small, quiet, well-maintained campground with trees, meadows, starry skies, cool mountain temperatures, and quiet nights. We stayed in two sites (sites #21 and #1), each was well-spaced from other campers and included a fire ring, picnic table, and tent pad. Site 21 is not too level, but site 1 is mostly level. There is no dump station or potable water here, but the bathrooms and showers were clean and well-maintained, and there is a sink for dishwashing. Firewood is free, but a donation is requested. The camp hosts were friendly and helpful but not at all intrusive. We will definitely stay here again!
There are several hikes here that can be started right from the campground. We did the out-and-back South Rim Trail all the way to Bartizan Arch and back. If you decide to do the full length of the trail, please note that our GPS recorded 5.8 miles roundtrip with nearly 1,100 feet of climbing, but the visit to the arch was a great reward for our efforts!

This is a relatively small campground near the top of Cedar Breaks National Monument. Some sites are really fantastic, such as the site we had (#13). Go for a site on the outer rim rather than an internal site and you'll find more privacy. There is excellent hiking in the area. We walked to the South Rim Trail and Spectra Point from the campground. The views were stunning. Think Bryce Canyon meets Zion National Park. We also drove a short distance the next day and walked the 2 mile loop around Alpine Pond. The campground is pretty quiet and has cool temperatures. Makes for great sleeping. After many years of visiting Bryce and Zion, this was our first trip to Cedar Breaks. We couldn't believe we hadn't been here before. It's accessible and convenient to reach. We'll be back!

This is a beautiful small campground in Cedar Breaks National Monument. We were a bit nervous about whether we'd fit, but space #6 was just fine for us. We did get a few scratches on our way out, the trees aren't trimmed back as well as they could be. The bath house and showers are clean. Bicycles are NOT allowed on the trails, but there is no signage except for one sign at the campground side of a trail - no sign at the road side of the same trail or on any other trails. There are a few hikes in this small monument, all are beautiful. Take advantage of the night sky ranger programs, and dress warmly! We were there Sept. 9-13 and needed winter wear for the night talks! It got into the 50s pretty quickly after the sun went down, and the slightest breeze made it very cool.
We have data with AT&T, T-Mobile, and a little with our Verizon phone plan. Bars don't exist on the first two, and are not a very accurate way to measure the signal. I look at the dBm, and we had -97 to -104 dBm with T-Mobile - not bad because we were expecting nothing! The other two had no service at all. The T-Mobile signal was enough to stream TV and do internet work fairly easily.

After reading reviews calling this campground so charming and a hidden gem I guess I was expecting something more. It's a nice little campground for sure but I guess it wasn't as fabulous as I expected.
The FCFS campground was nearly full when I arrived in the afternoon. I had my choice of 2 spots and I selected one with views across the meadow. I tried valiantly to set up a tent but the wind was fierce and the ground was so incredibly hard I could not get any tent stakes into the ground. I tried tying onto the picnic table but eventually gave up.
The wind died down in the evening and we had a peaceful sunset. It was super quiet.
In the morning I woke up and was lying in bed looking out the window of my van onto the meadow views. Suddenly there was a dude (and his dog) there. Uhhhhh.. so I guess this guy decided he wanted to catch the views too so he came into my campsite and stood inches from my van window. I didn't know what to do so I quickly put my curtain back up. He sensed the movement and skedaddled. Ugh. Dude, what are you thinking? Should I come into your campsite and peer into your RV windows? No because you probably have a gun and will shoot me. SMH. (btw the same view could be had OUTSIDE of my site)
There are showers and you need an access code from the nice camp host. Also yes there is cell service! Woohoo!!!
The park is beautiful with lots of great hikes. Be prepared for the higher elevation. I got a wicked headache but I'm pretty sensitive to elevation.
Oh and it's kinda out there so before you make your way to this park be sure to gas up and get supplies. There are a few resorts in the area but I'm sure their stuff ain't cheap!

We are heading back next week! We love the atmosphere of this small, maintained campground. It is lovely, cool, and has easy access to the beauty of Cedar Breaks. Meadow, trees, hiking trails
