Campsite was quiet and we didn’t see a lot of partying though we did see large group pull in the night before we left.
The hiking, or more like bouldering is amazing and so close to beautiful Watson Lake. No need to park at the lake and pay the fee, you literally can walk to it, it’s that close. We would definitely stay here again. We came in February.

We stayed here for two nights on a mountain bike trip through the southwest. The site was close to the Watson Lake trails. They have a nice access point that was right next to our site. The site was level and well kept. The WiFi was reliable. The site we stayed in was very roomy. I would gladly stay here again.

Good trail network and the lakes were worth seeing. We visited 4 lakes. At Goldwater Lake there is free parking Wednesday.
Con's- very dusty, sites crowded but lines of brush between you and neighbor, its VERY dark inside the park so it's best if you don't arrive after dark if your not familiar with the layout. No pet area and there was aggressive dogs that shouldn't have been allowed in the park.
There is road noise from the road outside of the park was noisy from idiots gunning their motorcycle or vehicle.
No swimming in the lakes in the area.... not happy about that!

Beware of site 49, there is a low hanging power line at the end of it and we were unable to get the dish up because of it.
Watson Lake, which beautiful, is a hot mess. You can't swim in it because of algae issues they are having and it smells horrible. We did rent a kayak for an hour but the water is so bad we cut the trip in half.

We were moved around 4-5 times, which was ok but seemed unnecessary. The park is very nice with all the rocks and a few trails really close by. The negative for me was the dust. It’s all dirt and lots of cars kick up the dust a lot. We had our windows open as the weather was just right, but the dust was thick. Fills up on weekends.

A Must-See hidden gem of Arizona. The Granite Dells are amazing to see and hike around. The area is cooler than anywhere south - makes a great getaway for month of May at 5400ft.
This campground is conveniently located near Watson Lake - just a 1/4 mile or so to the boat ramp where you can rent a Kayak for the day at only $25 for one person.
The sites are spacious, especially the premium ones -well worth it.
Site 64 especially has a small cove next to it where you can set up chairs with friends with trees that shade the sun. It is also close to the trail head.
Sites and roads are dirt but fairly level. The hookups are very convenient. No troubles. Plenty of shade with trees and rocks all around.
Easy to get OTA Digital from CBS and ABC, but not so with NBC. Phone no problems with AT&T. WiFi is free but works sporadically.
Be careful of the wind if it gets to 20mph or so, as it creates a natural dust devil or funnel every few minutes that carry across into the site from the road and make for a very dusty RV. Hard to breathe with all the dirt in the air. Also, there are ants everywhere you go in this area unless you stay on top of the rocks themselves.
There's a shooting range nearby which sounds like firecrackers going off constantly throughout the day. Traffic from nearby roads and construction noises as well. Pick a site away from the bottom of their map which overlooks this.
Check out the trails at the far end of the upper campground as well as the two trail heads from each side of the ramp area. Fantastic scenery, especially around sunset!

Also just a few miles from the cute little town of Prescott.
The campground itself is very very dusty and all gravel with no grassy areas for dogs but the park at the lake has great green areas.
Strangely the bathrooms on the top loop are gross but the ones below are beautiful and newly renovated Just FYI- walking down the hill is worth it if you use campground facilities.
The back in sites are the nicest. You either have views of town or rocks in your backyard.
We loved hiking and paddle boarding at Watson Lake!
And were visiting during Covid19 and the staff did a great job keeping folks safe.

We sort of ended up in Prescott by chance. We wrecked our rig and truck and after dealing with insurance, found a new rig and truck in Prescott, so we headed that way. We stayed in Prescott for 4 weeks (1 week in a hotel) and 3 weeks at the campground. I mention this because we knew absolutely nothing about Prescott and it turned out the be a wonderful experience.
The campground is nestled in among the Dells and these giant rocks are gorgeous. We hiked on and through the rocks daily. It is a 10 minute(ish) walk to Watson Lake and a 5 minute drive to a parking area for Wilson Lake. The recreation area parking for Wilson Lake is probably 15 minutes away. Both areas are amazing and full of so much outdoor recreation. We hiked, kayaked Watson Lake, hunted for wildflowers, found lizards and ducks, played in the field at Watson Lake, and enjoyed our mostly shaded campground sites.
The campground has showers and bathrooms. We used the showers a couple times and there is plenty of hot water and they are well cleaned. The sites are roomy and with the exception of one weekender family that rolled in for Easter, the place was quiet and everyone was respectful. The people working there were friendly and worked with us as we adjusted our schedule to meet our needs.
The campground is also near(ish) to many restaurants and grocery stores. Downtown is 10-15 minutes away. There are also many other outdoor recreation areas in the general vicinity of Prescott, but due to Covid19, we did not check out anything other than what was right nearby. The whole area is gorgeous. The Dells are fantastic and beautiful. There weather was perfect in March.

This campground is surrounded by granite rock formations which makes it interesting. The wifi was good. The bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. The sites had trees and shade.
The roads and the sites are not paved nor do they have fresh gravel, which made them dusty. Route 89 is pretty close and provided traffic noise early in the morning and late in the evening. There is a firing range not too far away, and one evening it was very active until almost 9 pm. Wood fires are not allowed if you like sitting around the camp fire at night.
On the whole it is an ok campground. It seems well-managed within the limitations of the location.
