Amazing tiny little Pennsylvania State Park! We needed a last minute getaway and most parks were already booked but this little park had open sites so we took chance. Turning off of RT322 onto a gravel road, our GPS said we still had 30-40 minutes to go. After navigating a long beautiful ridge, the gravel road descends into a deep long valley following Big Poe Creek. You pass a more developed park and campground call Poe Valley State Park but 3.5 miles farther the smaller less developed Poe Paddy State Park is nestled at the very bottom of the valley where Big Poe Creek empties into the larger Penns Creek. This small park has three loops for tent camping, Adirondack style shelters and dry sites large enough for some RV/trailers. There are new pit toilets and multiple hose bibs for water. We loved site 145 which fit our 30ft airsteam. The sites on our loop where spread out, and well buffered in a mature forest. This little park is surrounded by Bald Eagle State Forest and feels very secluded. Penns Creek offers great catch and release fly fishing for trout. There are many, many trails to hike and the long Mid-State trail which follows and abandoned rail line cross right by the park. This park does not offer many amenities but it does beauty and quiet in the woods.
