This is one of the nicer BLM campgrounds that we have stayed at. There is a great swimming hole and you are right on the Pit river. Our 31 foot 5th wheel would have fit into several of the sites. During the day you do not notice the noise.

Super close to a river and not too far of a drive from hat creek for fishing.10-15 min drive to Burney Falls SP. Small campground, most sites were shaded and there were mosquitos at night. Kind of a strange place in that you drive down this big hill down towards the water power plant and then the campground is at the end. It does feel like a pit although with trees and foliage. You can hear the drone of the power plant at night which was minimal but slightly annoying when you’re one that doesn’t fall asleep fast like me. The site was fine for a couple of nights or a stop through but that’s about it. There was no cell service

Zero Verizon signal, but if you really need to be connected, there's excellent 4G reception up at a scenic overlook a couple of miles away.
The camp host did nothing to quiet down a group of guys blasting music into the wee hours.

The campground itself is tiny, but is located next to the Pit River which apparently is fishing haven (I don' fish so cannot confirm). A few trails are located nearby, but within a short drive is the a huge state park and also trailhead access to the Pacific Crest Trail.
The setting is beautiful, but since broadband access as weak, anyone hoping work remotely via mobile internet should not plan to do so from this campground.
