Basic restrooms are available, as are a dog walk area and access paths to the North Platte river. The only thing that would make this a better place to stop would be the ability to pay online and get the code for the water, and if it had a shower...which could be unisex and pay by card and I'd have used it. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and we'll use it again if available (first come, first served) and we are in the area.

We arrived early afternoon, parked the motorhome and took our car over to tour Fort Laramie.
There are 14 sites with cement pads, water, electricity and a dump station in the park.
The night we were there, 8 sites were in use. We would definitely stay again.

A few barking dogs from neighboring property that barked quite a bit, not too late into the night, but enough that we noticed. Weather was cool so we were inside most of the time… you could hear the trains, but not enough to be a bother. Quite a few people driving behind the loop or sometimes through it pretty fast.
Overall would stay here again.

City did a nice service putting this RV Park in. There are only a couple pull thru spots, but they could have made more as there is a road behind the back row that would allow it. I was lucky and got Site 8 which was a pull thru. The site had a concrete patio which was nice. There is electrical up to 50 amp. There is also a water connection, but you have to call the City Hall to get the combination to unlock it. If arriving late this would be a problem if just there for overnite. When arriving take the first right turn towards the building, it loops you around to the correct direction to a site.

We arrived early Thursday afternoon and found only 3 out of 14 sites taken. The pads are concrete and pretty level. 50 amp electric and water at each sight for 20 dollars per night.
The park has a large lush recreation area with a good frisbee golf course, lighted basketball court, bean bag toss and horseshoe pits. Several outdoor pavilions and two modern kids playgrounds. Clean restrooms. It is a clean and nicely maintained city recreation area.
We used Pioneer Park campground as a hub for trips out to see local landmarks -- Chimney Rock National Historic Sight, Scotts Bluff National Monument, Agate Fossil Beds, etc. Many attractions worth experiencing within a 40 minute to an hour drive.
We ended up staying four nights to enjoy all the nearby sights.
We saw a lot of campers just pull through to use the free dump station and grab some water.

We made sure to arrive here early in hopes of getting a spot. To our surprise the whole place was empty. Very nice place for an overnight stop. We arrived too late to get the code to unlock the water hookup, but we have plenty of water.
