We booked a 50amp site (site 26) and arrived to find that it was only 30amp AND the post was very far from the actual site. We called the office to see if they had another 50amp site available which they did not. We explained that it DOES matter which amp we have but the gentleman seemed wholly unconcerned. Very nice park. Park was 100% full but was very quiet after 9 pm. Lots of kids and bikes so be watchful. No wireless or cell - which I personally find to be a GREAT thing. Restrooms were clean, sites were clean. Lake Michigan sunset views was an added bonus.

All in all, it’s a good campground; a better option than either of the state park campgrounds down the road. Be careful when reserving if your rig is 30’+, there are a lot of trees in certain areas and their reservation site isn’t good at being as informative as it could or show any site pics. Check on google maps for some aerial images. Be ready to disconnect from technology, cell signals are weak/non-existent for most carriers. They do have WiFi with boosters on pretty much each bathroom. It was terribly slow, but could pull up the weather with some patience.
The beach at Pioneer park is good. The beach at the state park is good too. It’s also worth a ride into downtown Muskegon for a few good dinner options or a day at the city beach (and drinks/meal at The Deck).

Nice and quiet place. Easy and fast check in. Close to the beach, 2-3 mins walking. Decent/Clean showers, poor/non working wifi internet ( Our ATT network almost inexistent in this area). Very kids friendly, playground and sport courts. We'll come back again
