As others have said, walkable to town with bars restaurants and shopping. Full hookups. Now $45/night. Must be self contained as there are no restrooms here. Just three parking spaces. If you are small there are several forest service campgrounds nearby. We are 50’ total so can’t fit in a lot of those.

At this park you feel like part of the community, centered in a residential area. You’re able to walk right into town, without feeling like you’ve hiked a mile. I’d definitely visit again!

However, there are three sites, fairly level and the $30/night includes full hookups. The one disappointment for us is that we are not fully contained & it would have been nice to have at least a port-o-potty on site. This mining town is full of history and the locals are very friendly. We will definitely come back.

I was traveling through MT on my maiden voyage in Roxie and didn't make any plans for where to stay. I wanted to visit Philipsburg but didn't see any parks in any of the directories I have. I saw a sign on the road that there was a campground but didn't get the location so I just drove through this beautiful little town. To the left I saw a sign for Pintler Peaks RV Park, Self Service, $30, 50 amp (actually 120, 30 and 50). I had to go down the road and turn around in a parking lot to come back. Space 1 had a "Reserved" sign on it so I served myself to space 2, all three are full hookup sites. After getting parked I went to the check-in box and paid for a night. It was about 5 pm so I took a walk up the hill to explore the town and immediately decided that one night here would not be enough there was too much to see and do. When I got back to the site I pulled out another envelope and paid for a second night.
The neighbor came in while I was walking and we visited awhile. They drive almost 170 miles to this site several times a year to enjoy the local theater group and BBQ. I had great ice cream for dinner that night ;-) and tried the BBQ for lunch the next day.
I bought a bag of rocks and found three cuttable sapphires (approx 2 carats each) and several others. A lot of families were going through bags finding fossils, gems, and pretty rocks. One family was from Texas and come every year with their grandchildren to explore this mining town.
I will be returning during my next swing through Montana to check out the theater and go through more rocks.

The only reason to stay at this park is if you want easy access to Philipsburg. It's right off the main street so you can walk any where in town. There are only 3 spots and they are first-come-first-served and self-service. We discovered it while visiting Philipsburg from a nearby Forest Service campground. It was empty at the time so we moved there the next day. A couple of hours later two other RVs showed up, so it's just going to be luck of the draw if you get a spot or not. But for only $25 you get FHU with 50A - not a bad deal. We would stay here again just for the location. We loved Philipsburg and it was nice to just be able to walk home from the awesome brewery that's in town and not worry about driving.

We didn't actually stay here, it was full, but if what you want is a dirt / grass site with full hookups and super easy access in to Philipsburg then this is your spot. There are only three sites all first come first serve and self service. Verizon is 4G and fast.
