The place was full. The site we had was pretty level, but was gravel. Already plan to come back on our return west. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This is not right off the freeway. Access directions were sent via text after booking. Last couple of miles are dirt road with broken pavement patches. Slowed down and took it easy with no problems.

I needed a one night stay and found this place on Campendium. Nice place with a winding road that might be hard for large rigs. The only issue is that people don’t control there barking dogs which I will never understand. Other than that it was nice.

The river is beautiful and there is a large field with firepits and picnic tables in front for a common area.
Our site was wonderfully level and concrete with a nice new picnic table, firepit, and outdoor lights. It was an extra long and wide pad. Loved it!
They are updating their facilities so there was no laundry or bathhouse when we came.
Access to it is pretty crappy, and you must follow their directions - not Google. Nearest stores are about 30 minutes away.

My family stayed here for a couple nights. The facilities are young with gravel roads and some concrete pads. The facility is recovering from the floods in August that reeked havoc in the West Tennessee area.
Access
This might be my only complaint. Getting to this hidden gem is a trek. There are basically two ways to get there. DON’T follow your GPS. The staff email a confirmation of your stay and include directions. Follow these. We followed our GPS and thought we would not make it. The best places are typically those you seek out. It’s worth the trek off the beaten path.
Location
Along the river and up the hill overlooking the area - the resort is away from freeways, train tracks and cities. In fact it is about 20 minutes to the nearest grocery store. But the quiet, the peace the stillness there is worth it.
Cleanliness
I’ll give them a mulligan for this. Two weeks prior the resort was devastated by a flood that saw the river rise to unprecedented levels. The facilities were clean but there was debris around the river and damage to some of the sites.
Site Quality
The upper sites with the concrete pads are nice and level - a little hard to back into as the road is single-wide. I’d have liked the entry road to be wider so turning a 41’ 5th wheel into a spot doesn’t require me to turn into my neighboring site.
Noise
Unless you are irritated by the white noise of a gentle river, birds and the occasional animal call… the only noise out there are other campers at the site.
Staff
110% the reason to visit. The staff are friendly, considerate and courteous. They went above and beyond to meet each camper as they arrived and helped them get settled into their spot. The staff were helpful with all the questions we asked.

We had been following Piney River for over a year before we even owned an RV. We knew it was one of the first places we were going to book and it lived up to every expectation we had. We stayed at site 5 which is pretty amazing: a water-front pavilion with stairs leading right down to a little sandy beach and the river. Our kids were in heaven playing in the water and fishing. The staff was welcoming, very responsive and helpful with everything we asked for. Our ideal campsites include room for our 4 young boys to explore (not right on top of another site), water and the night sky. We stayed in March, have already booked for June and will be booking more soon!

Spot 3 is great with its own patio cover and clear view of the river. I'm most impressed with REAL WiFi pulling about 18mps download. They have invested in repeaters everywhere in the camp. The road in is small but people are nice and pull over to let you by.

The resort it is pretty remote and the last mile of the road in is a little sporty. Definitely follow the campground’s directions, don’t rely on GPS or other services, as the campground directions are the only viable way in, particularly for Class As. The main campground is typical for RV resorts, sites pretty close together and in the open, but the sites along the river, where we were (site 1), all have concrete pads, are reasonably spaced and right on the river. Some have shelters over their picnic tables. The staff is very friendly, attentive and helpful. AT&T had 1 bar and 0.04 MB/s w/o a booster, 2 bars and 0.2 MB/s with it. Overall WiFi was “ok” with data rates from 0.2 MB/s up to 1.1 MB/s. Satellite coverage should be good at any of the sites. We had visibility to all 3 DISH west satellites, so we didn’t try OTA channels.

The riverfront sites have National Park level natural beauty. Loved the peaceful area, but close enough to town for services and restaurants. The management is friendly, helpful, and keeping the everything in top condition. Cell service is low, but the WIFI is the best we have experienced. Thank you for a great stay!
