“On the Waterloo-Pinckney Hiking Trail in the woods”

Reviewed 9/1/2020

Overall Rating

While in the area I wanted to check out this backcountry campground - I didn't camp. It is right on the Waterloo-Pinckney Hiking Trail as well as a network of horse trails (stables a few miles away in Waterloo). One access point is just off Baldwin Road (42.328705, -84.178291) where there is a large parking area at the trailhead. Following the trail (blue triangular blazes - not the square ones which are for the horse trails) head towards the Baldwin Flood, veer left, and cross the metal bridge. Continue through the woods for 10 -15 minutes to get to the campground. It is just as described, a rustic, hike-in, tent-only with 5 designated sites with picnic tables. A vault toilet is in the open area across from the path to the campground where horses would be tied. These camping spots don't get much attention so I thought I'd share a few photos.
