Pine Bluff Campsites

We were visiting Effigy Mounds NM. This is mostly seasonal camping with a few open spots. Located on a trout stream, Friendly owner. Very quiet. Full hookups and no bathrooms. Don’t come if you aren’t tolerant of a more unusual setting. Free WiFi . The bar mentioned in the other review has burned down. The little town has no services.

This campground was exactly what we expected, based on the website. Small, on a creek (with reportedly awesome trout fishing!). Quiet little town and friendly neighbors.
It’s not a resort... it doesn’t even have a bath house or playground, but it’s perfect for a spot to stay and do some site-seeing around the Mississippi River in NE Iowa. The owner was friendly and helpful (and doesn’t take credit cards). There’s not a convenience store for a few miles, but there’s a juking little restaurant/bar a short walk away.
The owner offered free firewood and lots of great advice on beautiful places to go.
Cell service was hit or miss. Seemed like mornings were good for my AT&T and evening was better for Verizon.
It’s the perfect spot to unplug.
