Arrived on a Friday evening in mid July to find only one other camper at this lightly used state forest campground. Picnic tables, fire rings, and a pit toilet are the only amenities. Mostly used by hikers using the adjoining trailhead, or tubers floating the sturgeon river. A few of the sites back up to the river which can’t be seen from the site but is only a short walk down to the bank. The only downsides are no (Verizon) cell signal even with a booster. The adjacent road is unexpectedly busy and the campground isn’t very far off of it. Ten miles off I75 down a rough but paved road makes easy access. I wouldn’t bring a big rig in just because lack of parking space, under 30’ max.
