Overall quiet, easy but lil rough to get to, beautiful! Definitely would come back!

Picacho road is a wash board dirt road, so we traveled slowly. Our site was just off the road and the ground was a bit sandy but solid. Quiet And We Looked For Other Campers And Saw A Couple Maybe 1/4 Mile Away.

This place is literally a winter haven. There are hundreds of spots to camp, down in the washes even big class A rvs towing trailers can make it, just do a little scouting not to drive on soft sand. If you just want to drive flat and easy Barney Oldfield Rd is the flattest area to camp.
Make sure you’re on BLM land since the Quechan Reservation land requires a fee, drive at least to the power lines 2.8 miles past the All American Canal (plenty of fishing available, permits at the Quechan Center in Winterhaven). Even though this is not part of the reservation this is still Indigenous land and has no trash in sight! Respect the land and bring your trash back with you.
This area is good for offroading but there are spots far enough to get away from it on Barney Oldfield Rd.
The washes are home to deer, foxes, rabbits and coyotes.
There are occasional military aircraft flying over, I’d say about 2 helicopters per day at least.
Yuma is just 20min away for supplies, there is a free dump station at one of the Speedway gas stations and the city has plenty of drinking water dispensers.
I had intermittent Verizon signal but T-Mobile was more usable at 4.5mb/s. Despite being in California the cell phone tower pings in Yuma, AZ so my clocks were on Mountain Time.
