Negative… Unfortunately, woke up at 3:45 in the morning to flashlights directed towards our trailer of intruders in our sight at the back of our truck. My husband chased them off-they left their shoes at the bottom of the driveway as well. Fireworks were going off and some hooping and hollering. We will not be returning.

There are a variety of “types” of sites here, all situated in shady spots beneath mostly sugar maples and the remnants of what was once an impressive old beech forest. Disease has caused the campground to cut all of the large suns-a-beeches down for camper safety, and the few remaining outside of the campground are the last of their kind — these trees will never grow to their original, impressive stature again due to the disease.
But to the types of sites: their are walk-in tent sites, standard sites, waterfront sites and double sites, all of which have a different fee. Our cost reflects the fact that spot 1A was a double, lake front site. It was the last one available on the Friday of Labor Day, so we took it, but of note is that even a spot not intended to serve as a double incurs that fee if you have two families / camping units.
Be sure to check out Bruno’s Trail, too, if you brought a bicycle and don’t mind some whoopdies and switchbacks.
Swimming beach, water spigots and firewood for sale at the campground. Absolutely 0 Verizon service.

“Nice national forest service campground. Limited services, in a beautiful forest setting. ”

We stayed here 2 nights, enjoyed riding a flowy cross country mountain bike trail (Bruno’s Run) and paddling Pete’s Lake. There is no cell service or dump station. There is water, but it is set up for filling jugs vs. RVs. No dump station. Simply great dry camping in the north woods.
Kathy would stay here again
