San Felipe is known for its extreme tidal changes. You can literally walk out 200+ yards during low tide. This campground is on the beach and will give you great access. (Lot's of sand dollars at low tide too.)

What didn't work for us was the strong electrical surge that shut down our power so often, we could not make coffee. Our surge protector will not allow anything over a certain amount (not sure what that is) and it was exceeded consistently. Electricity is also what costs $55 instead of $35 for no hookups. The office was closed when we had the problems and did not open before we left the following morning so no appeal for a refund was possible. Don't pay for hookups before you test the power.

At 4:48 am, we were rudely awakened by the security patrol that came by the front of our RV with flashing red and blue lights. While this may be normalized in Baja, it is a call to action for Gringos. Never could get back to sleep. I'm not sure if they think the lights are a deterrent to the bad guys or they are just clueless.

Then there is the beautiful ocean view bar but it is at the top of the hill. The campsites are at the bottom. It is a healthy hike up that hill with no stairs, no wheelchair accessibility. I'm sure it's a great place to be in warm weather but we never seem to be there when it's warm. Even the bartenders are in down jackets. The inside restaurant/bar is basically a tiled room with a bar, folding tables and chairs so flimsy that some of the bigger folks had issues. Even the pizza was a disappointment. It was frozen crust and sauce to which they added toppings and ran under a broiler.

Bottom line: If location is all that matters and having electrical, a comfortable bar/restaurant and an uninterrupted night's sleep is low priority, this is your place. The management is warm and friendly and if you are full-time or a retired snowbird, you are in good company.

Best decision we made was staying here to explore San Felipe with our big rig. Are there cheaper places we probably could have squeezed in? I’m sure…but you’re paying for the security and peace of mind here. At night employees drive around patrolling the area. Came down in our 42ft fifth wheel and actually enjoyed being further outside of San Felipe, it was very relaxing. Nice hot showers for $2. Restaurant and bar was both delicious and affordable. The bartender Raul was fantastic! Dump station and water available, although we did not use the water. ATT/Verizon were very spotty but Starlink worked like a charm!

Lovely clean, level sites. There were very few other campers there over Christmas, but started arriving as we were leaving a couple days before New Years. Sites are right on the water (Pete's camp houses are behind the RV spots). We happily ate and drank at the bar & restaurant regularly. It was about a 15 minute drive from camp to the Malecon. There is no longer any dry or tent camping here. It’s all full hookup rv sites now, at an eye-watering (for Mexico) price of $55 per night, with an incredible extra charge of $30 per night for an extra vehicle! For that price you STILL have to pay for showers. The WiFi is poor and the cell service isn’t fantastic either. While it’s on a pretty stretch of beach, it’s out in the middle of nowhere. You can’t walk anywhere. So if you want to have dinner and a few drinks you’re stuck with either the on-site restaurant or having to take a cab into town. Or have a designated driver. This place used to be cheaper than staying in town, but no more now that they’ve done away with the dry camping spots and hiked the hookup prices. So now we stay downtown and can walk to dozens of other bars, restaurants, shops and even the supermarket. The biggest draw of this place seems to be that it is more big-rig friendly than most of the places downtown, though the driveway is *really* steep and pretty long, and with some sand cutting the traction, it can be a challenge to drag that big rig back out again if the engine power is at all marginal. Some folks with bad knees or hips have trouble negotiating the climb up the hill also and have to drive back and forth to the bar/restaurant/office/showers.

Full hook ups, clean, level parking, and right on the beach. We stayed at Christmas time and we had the beach all to ourselves. More people showed up towards New Years but I never felt crowded. The spaces are spaced out nicely. There are pull-in and pull through sites. Bring your toys and play right in the beach which is steps away from your RV. Felt safe the entire time. Great restaurant on site if you are willing to spend 3 to 4 hours for a meal. Would stay here again in a heart beat. There is WiFi at the restaurant but you have signal down at the site too, not fast though. But who cares you are at the beach with amazing sun rises and water you can walk out in for days.

The RV park was not busy there about 10 campers on the beach when we arrived on a Wednesday but by The Weekend it doubled at least. If there is a race in town or a Holliday it fills up.

There is a really nice restaurant and bar that over looks the ocean it’s about 100 yards up the hill. The people that work there are really nice and fun. The food is excellent.

I would highly recommend this park to anyone that can dry camp. There is a dump and water station up by the restaurant.

Town is about 10 min away lots of tourists stuff etc.
