Very beautiful campground. We were there in October and was very quiet. But I think in the summertime it would be full. Good dump station and wood for campfires. Lots of mosquitoes and walnuts falling on the trailer. A lot if beautiful trails in the area

We went in the back entrance and didn’t have our State Park sticker yet, so there was a little driving around to find the main entrance. The campground was very nice, but not real flat. It took some extra effort to level the trailer. Hiking was good and we took a field trip to the lock and dam. Good time was had by all.

The site was long enough that we could unhitch and still park the truck in front of the trailer. We have a combined length of around 50 feet. No water or sewer at the site but there is a nice dump station. From site 5E we had to make a 180 degree turn to enter the dump station but there was enough room to do this with our 34 foot 5th wheel. There is generous spacing between sites with many trees and vegetation to provide privacy. Trempealeau has a busy railroad track. It is not near the campground but there is moderate noise from the train horn. Not bad, but not totally peace and quiet.

First time at the park. Very nice ranger greeted us and provided helpful information. Our spot was a little to close to pit toilets and would choose to be further away next time. Good barriers from neighbors and had a nice quiet time camping. Hiked up to Brady's Bluff, the Riverview Trail and the Black Walnut Trail (which had some cool rock outcroppings). Shower and flush facilities were clean though a bit dated. High nitrate levels in the drinking water and warnings are posted. Inexpensive canoe and kayak rentals. Overall, a nice SP and we're planning on going back.

Be aware of mosquitoes, they are abundant during the summer months.

We stayed at the end of November so there was only one other camper in the campground. Sites seemed pretty private and well maintained but no facilities were open during our visit to give a more detailed review. Beautiful scenery and enjoyed our non electric site right by the water. The park has several hiking trails including Brady’s Bluff that we hiked earlier in the morning so the sun melting all of the ice made for a challenging, muddy and slippery hike but worth doing if you are at the park! This was a last minute trip but would definitely come back to camp for a longer stay! We absolutely loved the views from being right by the water!

Perrot State Park campground is lovely. It is set in the forest at the base of the bluffs. Most of the sites are quite spacious and screened from each other and the road by trees and bushes. You might hear your neighbors, but you probably won't see them. The park itself has many hiking trails that go up and down the bluffs, so you can expect to get a good workout as well as some beautiful views of the Mississippi River. In addition, the park is on the Trempealeau River and has a boat launch which also gives access to the Mississippi River for powerboaters. One caution is that the campground's well is contaminated with nitrates according to a sign. So you will want to show up with your own drinking water.

Note that there is potable water available, but there were signs stating something was elevated in it and to be cautious not to boil or give to kids. Firewood available too on site.

Beautiful location on the Mississippi and Trempealeau Bay. Sites have a lot of foliage affording some privacy but the few sites on the bay do not have electric. We have a pop top camper and arrived on a Sunday evening in the “shoulder season” pre Memorial Day weekend. We had two challenges because of our camper: the camp office is over a mile from the campground so although we had initially planned to stay two nights, once we packed up to go pay, we decided to keep going. (The self registration/pay station was not yet operable for the season). Our other challenge was the high level of nitrates in the water. A notice was posted on the bathrooms stating that filtering and boiling would not help remove the nitrates. Since we didn’t have water in our five gallon tank, this was a problem. Bathrooms were not the cleanest we have encountered but ok. Trains thundered past CONTINUOUSLY!! On the plus side, it was surprisingly not buggy (this may not be the case in the summer) and the Brady’s Bluff hike is a must! Challenging but the sweeping views are worth it! Note that the rate listed above includes the daily parking fee and site fee for non Wisconsin residents (the rate for both is lower for residents)
