You have to be a Department of Defense ID card holder which includes active, retired, reserve, and guard military personnel as well as Dept of Defense Civilian employees. A DoD ID card holder can sponsor others to stay at the campground for up to 14 days during peak season. Winter camping is DoD ID card holders only.

There has been a change in 2020. Now disabled Veterans regaurdless of retirement can stay too. This includes Purple Heart recipients.
