Do you have to reserve a spot? Or could I just drive in?

Reservations would definitely be safest but depending on what you are camping in and the time of year you could just pull in. When we were there, all of the sites that could accommodate bigger rigs were reserved in advance but the smaller sites didn’t fill up until mid afternoon.

There is no attendant there as the campground is run by the town of Marathon so you have to book your site on line. You could take chance and go to see if any sites available. Sites that are reserved will have a tag on the site post saying when it is reserved for. An alternative could be the National Park Pukaskwa which is a first come first serve park, no reservations. Pukaskwa is only about 5 kilometres east of Marathon. Beautiful are enjoy. John
