I reviewed this campground last year - but after just staying here again this past weekend, wanted to add a few updates. Love this campground more each time we stay. We rode around the three loops - and I noticed that the young trees are starting to fill in where the beetle kill left shadeless sites. Still not a lot of shade in some sites - but young trees are starting to offer more privacy (and some shade) this year that wasn't there before. A few of the vault toilets were closed due to sewer issues, but they had set up porta-potties next to them, and potable water was still available (not for filling RV's, but for filling jugs). Very friendly camp hosts this year (at least the one closest to us). The reservoir levels were very low - we had a campsite that normally would have been a 20-30 foot walk to the water (great for launching SUP's/kayaks) - but this time was several hundred feet. We read that they're keeping the reservoir at lower than normal levels for this time of year to accommodate the extra snow melt they're expecting. So if they've done their calculations correctly, reservoir levels should be back to normal in the next few weeks as the snow melt makes its way in. You really can't beat this location for exploring Summit County - with mountain biking, road biking, hiking or boating available right from your site. In fact, we even skied while there since A-Basin is still open on weekends. You do get a wee bit of highway noise, depending on your site. And as with any dry campgrounds, you'll get generator noise from some sites. But this is still a really quiet campground.

There is water but only aside of the bathrooms and some rest rooms are far from the road. They also have no threads. The restrooms are clean with flush toilets and running water. You can hop on a multitude of mountain or road paved trails and travel everywhere including Breckenridge, Vail, around Dillon Reservoir and more. The boat ramp is about 1/4 mike away and we left our kayaks and paddle board near it locked up. The Pine Cove campground was 1/4 mile down the road where the boat ramp was located. This was a first come first service CG. Pine Cove had no water but toilets. Both CG’s were full Friday and Saturday nights. There is so much to do around the area including many free Concerts and hiking

We've stayed in Peak One multiple times in the past year or so, and it's one of our favorite places to stay. Yes, there is very little shade - but it's rarely so hot that you'd need it. We love the lakeside sites where we can launch our kayaks/paddleboards almost directly from our sites. The reservoir is beautiful for paddling in the mornings & evenings when there is less boat traffic & less wind. You can also jump on the perimeter trail & explore the mtb trails on the peninsula, or take a quick 2.5 mile ride right into downtown Frisco (the campground is closer to Frisco than Breckenridge, in reality). Beautiful views from anywhere in the campground. Well-spaced sites. Some light road noise from I-70 across the reservoir, depending on which site you're in. No hookups (which is fine by us), but there is a dump station & potable water available at Upper Blue Sanitation just a few minutes down the road.

Mostly RVers and lots of generators. Tons of kids circling the campground on bikes and running around the beaches. Great family location. Probably not the best environment for those tent campers who like to sleep past 7 am. Sites and bathrooms are clean. Hosts are super nice and helpful.
Hit the Frisco fishing derby and parade for the first time year and what a blast! Rented a few boats at the marina and staff and equipment were super cool there as well. Loving this little town and looking forward to next year!

Stayed here early August with the weather changing to cool so no A/C required. Fun area that has access to local bike park and trails along the water. Basic dry camping place with nice concrete picnic table and fire ring. Just barely hear Rt 70 in the distance.

The first time we stayed here was a 1 night stop in while traveling through Colorado. We thought it was so beautiful we wanted to come back. We stayed here 4 days this month and the beauty did not disappoint. Others have mentioned there is no shade, and I agree. Luckily the Colorado summers are not too hot. We stayed at a lake front site. The campground is on the shore of Lake Dillon, a gorgeous lake surrounded by mountains. We went out kayaking several times. This campground is also conveniently located right off I-70 and close to Frisco and Breckenridge. There is a LOT to do in the area. All facilities were clean and well maintained and cell coverage is excellent. My only complaint would be (and its because we had a site right on the lake) is other campers cut through our site, frequently, to access the lake. There is a trail that is designated for lake access, however, either people did not know it was there, or did not want to walk the long way around. If we went back we would reserve a site across the road from the lake front sites. You still can see the lake, but you don't have numerous people and dogs walking through your site.
