Payne Lake West Side

Nice wooded area. Large hardwood and pines for shade. Campsites on the westside were mowed and nice. Main restroom and shower could use some TLC for as new as they are. It was in rougher shape than older ones at other campgrounds we've stayed at. The smaller restroom and the restrooms at the beach area were both closed. The Eastside campgrounds are in a pretty area but none of the area was mowed as if they didn't want people using it. It's a shame to waste all that potential camping area, there are 36 sites on the Eastside.

Where to begin...this place was a total shock,....we were shocked at how beautiful and peaceful it was and super excited that we found it, thx to good ole Campendium!! We loved this place and the PRICE...WHAT!!!..well that’s just as beautiful as the scenery! It was $12 for a gorgeous site on the lake with water hookup...they have about 6/7 sites right at the start of the loop of West Side with water and electric for a marvelous $18 a night AND if you have a few years on ya self, then you can get it all half price! Yep seniors half price! Sites are very room and a lot of space between the sites. The WEST SIDE is the way to go if you’re in a TT, specially if a big rig!
The bathhouses definitely need an updating but they were nasty, just dated, but had shower, got pictures included, and pics of our view and site. And I will give a shout out to Mr Ron the camp host, he was so kind, friendly, and helpful....he even came by our site the next day to let us know a site with electric had opened up. I would highly recommend this place if there’s a couple 2-3 families with kids going together because you could get sites together and not hardly any traffic around to worry over the kids, and they could well run wild, like kids love to do!
