We were planning on a long term stay here, but with two young boys to keep busy and a penchant for organic food and good restaurants, there’s just nothing to do. Visited Palmetto SP, that was nice. We were planning on a long term stay here, but with two young boys to keep busy and a penchant for organic food and good restaurants, there’s just nothing to do. Visited Palmetto SP, that was nice. Gonzales is a dive. The campground was ok, nice staff, but filled with oil workers so the laundry room was filthy on certain days. And if the wind was just right, the smell of the neighboring cattle/turkey farm wafted through the air.
Sorry, won’t stay here again. Two stars. Extra one for the courteous staff.

Nice park with level concrete pads, well functioning utilities and squeaky clean grounds. We had an 80’ pull through site that could easily handle bigger rigs than ours. The park is just off of US 90A but highway noise at our site was insignificant. Staff is helpful and they appear to enjoy their work, always cheerful and pleasant. We ... more

The park is just off of US 90A but highway noise at our site was insignificant. Staff is helpful and they appear to enjoy their work, always cheerful and pleasant. We would gladly stay here again.

Best part, the sandhill cranes flying overhead every morning go out to feed. If you have never spent years on a fly way it is hard to explain the excitement of the flyway....perhaps spend a season waiting for them. Park is immaculate! Park is immaculate! Showers, restrooms, laundry room, picnic area. All thoughtfully done. Staff beyond friendly and once I lamented there was no lending library, they got right on it. So sweet.
We stayed up towards the bathrooms but next time we will stay a bit back. It was the noise but I live on a ranch sooooooo
