There’s a trail right from camp that connect to a longer trail system to the Twin lakes and beyond. Really fun hike and beautiful scenery. There are bears in the area but as long as all food and smelly things are locked in the car there aren’t any problems. Note: overnight fee is $24 p/night, not 12

A couple sites sit next to the roaring river. You can hear the river from most of those sites in that section. Some of sites back up to Hwy 82. There is very little traffic on the Hwy at night. Some of the sites in 16-25 are not flat and are smaller. Sites 1-16 are flat. The vast most of them would accommodate a larger 5th wheel or class A. The community of Twin Lakes is about 1.5 miles fromm the camprground. There is a general store, restaurant, lodge and tourist information bureau. This was our favorite out of the five campgrounds we wandered through in that area.We paid 12.00 with Senior Pass.

The river pretty much drowns out road noise. Pit toilet I used was clean. Driveways are gravel, look fairly level, but not really long. The camp host was helpful. I got the next to last open site at 2 pm on a Thursday. The road in has some pot holes, so drive slow. No cell service at all with Verizon. I could get cell service in Twin Lakes Village.

There are no hookups. This is dry camping. Bring your water. If you need to dump/fill, use White Star Campground 5 minutes east for a small $10 fee.
One note: it's high elevation for some people. 9400 ft. Can cause high altitude symptoms.

My first experience with Parry Peak Campground was back in 1991. That was a time that the campground was well maintained. I have been coming to the area since that time. We used different campgrounds: Twin Peaks, Lake View and White Star. For last 5 years, I used White Star. Last summer we decided to stay at the Parry Peak. NO WATER there! I was told that there has not been water at the camp for last 3 years. So we stayed at Twin Peaks. The rumor is that the Forest Service doesn't have money to repair the water line. Another rumor says, that the water line is broken at the private property located between Parry Peak and Twin Peaks campground. There is water at that property. The water line goes through that property.
I am coming back to the area the summer 2019. Parry Peak campground is on the list. But, if there is no water, we select other places.
PS I am going to copy this to the Department of Agriculture. I believe that those campgrounds are under the DOA jurisdiction.
