This is close to home. We wanted to take a quick camping trip but Chilhowee (near here) is closed during the winter. This park is ok. It is very small. Rainbow falls is close by. It has several river crossings. I would stay at Chilhowee before coming here.

Level spacious wooded sites. The pull throughs are on the creek. No AT&T cell. Water fill at dump station is not working, but water station at entrance at host's site is available. Hiking available at the adjoining forest road and across the highway off the group camping area. Camp Hostest Nancy is very friendly and helpful.

We camped at Parksville Lake Campground on Mother’s Day weekend, 2021, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Nancy, the camp host, and her husband Robert were very helpful and friendly. Nancy stayed busy checking on all the campers to be sure they had everything they needed. She is also very efficient in cleaning the restrooms and the camp sites. As soon as the campers leave their site Nancy immediately picks up any trash left behind and cleans out the fire pits. We were amazed at how busy she stayed all day! The campground was full for Mother’s Day weekend with a lot of kids enjoying the beautiful weather while riding their bikes and skateboards. All were enjoying meeting new friends and celebrating their Mother in a wonderful campground. They were having fun and being a little noisy but everyone had settled down by dark. Kids will be kids. I noticed in a previous review it was said there was “a school bus with stoners in it” and “you could smell it from 40 yards away”. Those reviewers were on site 2 and we were on site 1, directly across from the camp host, and we didn’t experience any of that activity. The school bus was a very nicely converted camper with a wonderful family in it. We strolled throughout the campground several times a day as well as in the evening and never smelled anything unusual. I’m absolutely sure if that was happening Nancy would have confronted them. I once saw her flag down vehicles going the wrong way on the one-way road through the campground. She is very conscious of the established campground rules and she doesn’t hesitate to enforce them. We will definitely be back to Parksville Lake Campground again and again! Thank you Nancy, Robert and your beautiful dog Bear for a very enjoyable weekend.

We were on asphalt but others were on small gravel. This CG has a heavy canopy of shade trees with only electric hookups-no water or sewer. We saw some conflicting info on that. You can fill up with water as u enter. There are also a few water spigots around the park. Site provided a wooden picnic table and metal Firepit/grill. Wife said the bathhouse was ‘ok’ with a single shower & 3 toilets for each sex.

We stayed here our 1st time out in our new class C (this campground is close to our home and we wanted to make sure everything ran smoothly before going on the road). Lots of trees and shade (easy on our a/c in June) and the pull thru sites on the other side of the loop are right next to a babbling small stream. We could still hear the water from our site, but we will definitely get a pull thru next time to be right on the stream. Close to Parksville Lake for boating and swimming (there are several “beach” areas on the lake) and great proximity to the Ocoee River (rafting, kayaking, fishing).
Electric only at the site, but dump station and potable water refill area at entrance/exit. Overall, a great little campground!

Mid-March camping just ahead of the foliage season. Sites only have electric and park exit dump station water was still off from the winter shutdown. Tent camping area across the street was closed with some downed tree cleanup going on... a few tent campers pitched on the RV side, making it more crowded than it otherwise would have been. A camp host had not yet been installed.
We made no reservation with the Forestry Service, just pulled in after dark to see what was available. Three sites were left. All had reservation placards, but with dates in the future, so the ranger had said they were available on a first-come-first-serve basis. He also said that if none were available, we could simply pull off on a forestry service road, as long as we didn't block travel, and boondock for the night.
Most spaces were back-in, gravel, and fairly level. AT&T cell service was non-existent from the moment we passed the Parksville Lake dam, 7 miles up the main highway. If you like camping disconnected, this is the place. Centrally located main bath house was heated (noisy system) and clean. Single urinal, single stall, single sink, and single shower in the mens room. Running water with flush toilet.
As one reviewer noted, there are miles of trail within close proximity to the campground, the Chilhowee Trail System. A closed, but hikeable, fire road just to the other side of the creek alongside the campground intersects the trail system a little ways up the gorge. Some of the creek crossings on the trails are guaranteed to get your feet wet, so be prepared.
Finally, Parksville Lake is a wonderful narrow mountain lake, with numerous pull-offs and several swimming beaches in close proximity to the campground. Overall, this is an excellent location for some of the best the Appalachian Foothills has to offer.

First of all, this area is BEAUTIFUL. We could not have asked for a better campground in that sense. The entire campground is wooded with level gravel sites, around 5 of the sites are next to a medium-sized stream. Ocoee Lake is just a bit down the road, which is also gorgeous, especially in the fall. There were also several hikes to do in the area, one of which led to a really neat waterfall called Benton Falls.
We were easily able to find a spot on a weekday in late October, but it did fill up over the weekend. Everyone we encountered was very nice. The bathrooms are clean as well as the shower, including hot water. There was no soap in the bathrooms, which was a little frustrating. Close enough to Cleveland for a Walmart and places to get wifi. The reception was spotty and had little to no service in our camper throughout our stay, so we drove to town a lot to work.
A regular spot with electric is $20, unless you have a National Parks/America the Beautiful pass, then it's $15. We would definitely stay here again!
