We thought we were going to stay at Poplar Point on Jordan Lake which has a large FCFS loop but boy was there confusion about that on Reserve America! So, the whole campground at Poplar Point was closed for the season (which normally they are not) so we ended up here at Parkers Creek. It isn't too bad but as discussed by previous reviewers, it is pretty worn out. We don't mind as long as we have electric and water but it does seems neglected. Examples are our fire ring was bent and the cement pad under it was cracked and sunken, the timbers lining the site are rotten. The picnic table was horrible; one side of the bench was rotten. Showers don't really have a lot of hot water. Bathrooms are clean but very old.
We probably wouldn't stay here again unless we couldn't get into Poplar Point.

Also, the campground is in a military flight path so noise was a constant. If you are going to enjoy the lake and aren't interested in a quiet retreat this campground works. It is NOT a quiet getaway.

Paid $24.00 a night with military discount and a bs reservation fee of $6.00. Everyplace seems to nickle and dime you.

We stayed three nights at a site that didn't have any hookups because that's all we could get for memorial day weekend. We weren't on the lake but we did have a beautiful view and could still see it from our campsite. Our site was well spaced out from the others and came with a fire pit and picnic table. There was some rain that weekend so it was a lot emptier than it should have been with some no shows.
The site was relatively level, needed a couple blocks. We had decent signal and used our AT&T hotspot for work.
The only complaint I have is the bathrooms. Our site happened to be in front of a bathroom, which was closed...so we had to walk farther to another one. The distance doesn't matter to me, I just didn't understand why the bathroom was closed. But regardless the bathrooms were very buggy, it looked like they were virtually never cleaned. The showers also didn't feel all that private, the door only goes halfway up, it's like a booth. So I chose not to shower or use those facilities.

The negative thing is the curbside sits 5 or 6 inches lower than street side, so will need some leveling. A couple trails are good for hiking but so many fallen trees across the trail that biking was difficult. But overall just to relax, hike, bike and fish, pretty good. 25 ft. Airstream with Ford F-150.

We stayed at Parker’s Creek over Halloween weekend, and, for the most part, really enjoyed our stay. The campground is right on Jordan Lake and has 4 loops of camping (2 that take advanced reservations and 2 that are FCFS). There is a mix of electric/water hookup sites and dry sites. Most (if not all) of the true waterfront sites are dry. We had a hookup site with nice water view. The entire campground is very wooded, so lots of shade. We were on loop 2, and it was exceptionally quiet (obviously this can vary based on who is camping that weekend).
Here’s the bad….this campground is gated and the gates are locked at night (check website for hours but in the winter months it is as early as 6pm…it was 9pm while we were there). There is NO access in and out of the campground (other than for medical emergencies) after the gates are locked for the night. Normally, this wouldn’t be an issue for us as we are normally at our campsite in the evenings. However, we had planned this trip around visiting some friends who live in the area. This put us in a real time crunch after having dinner one evening. It also just creeped me out a bit that we could not leave if we felt the need. It’s the only campground we have stayed in that we’ve been completely locked in at night (we have stayed in gated parks but have always either had a code to get in or there has been an after hours campground access). This was my biggest complaint.
Also, just be aware that the maximum vehicle lengths on the website are a bit generous, in my opinion. For the site we were in, the max vehicle length is listed as 60ft. We have a 29 ft travel trailer, and between there being a dumpster in front of the site and the trees, etc, we could not have managed in and out with anything much bigger. It was tricky getting in, and it was very tricky getting out and missing all of the obstacles.
We did walk through loops 3 & 4 (the first come sites), and there are several nice sites in those loops as well. For the most part, the sites seemed pretty level (we had to level a bit in our site, but nothing too extreme).
Overall, we really enjoyed the weekend and campground. Minus being locked in and the somewhat tricky site, we were super pleased. We would visit again, but just with better expectations.

Highly recommend site 88! Beautiful views of the lake with full hookups. The bathrooms were clean. Showers were available as well but I didn't use them so I can't report on things like water pressure, temps, etc.
We truly enjoyed Parkers Creek campground at Jordan Lake.

The sites with hookups are unfortunately not the ones with good lake views but that’s typical. Most sites are largely tree covered and shaded. Lake-view sites are all tent camping only. We stayed here during Covid restrictions and they were doing a really good job of keeping visitors without reservations out to reduce crowding. AT&T coverage was good enough, but not great. I would gladly stay here again.

Beautiful views and not crowded during the week and open spots on the weekend as well even though it was mid-August. Water and electric only. Arrival was smooth. Bath house had sensor showers and toilets. Had to learn to stay in the sensor range to keep the water on but hot once it warmed up. They have several campgrounds in the Jordan Lake area and we have enjoyed them all. Close to the Triangle for business and pleasure. Can hear more traffic noise in Loop 1 at Parkers Creek other 3 are quieter. Had seniors discount on rate.
