LC would stay here again

“Nice state park setting with many sites on the lake”

Overall Rating

We stayed here in April and accidentally arrived a day earlier than we had reserved. Thankfully, this campground is quite large and there was plenty of availability. There are 4 loops, each with quite a few sites. Loop 4 is dedicated to campers without reservations, so we stayed in a very nice, level, wooded site with water and electric the first night. The second night, we moved to site 34 that was a little less level without any hookups, but was right on the lake with a beautiful view and easy access for launching out kayaks. Pittsboro and Apex are close by and very nice little towns with dining and shopping.

OurPopUpParadise would stay here again

“Spacious and wooded”

Overall Rating

We have stayed at this campground many times over the years while tent camping. We now have a pop-up and took her here on the first weekend we got her. The site has water and electric. No sewer but there’s a dump station. The views throughout this campground weren’t particularly great. The only sites on the water were no hookups.

The bathrooms are not well kept and have so many spiders. I avoid using them as much as possible. The noise level was not great. The person next to us had their radio blaring. There were some kids making a lot of noise at 6-7 am. And the most annoying thing is that there were 2 big rigs across from us and they have these super bright large v-shaped LED lights on the side of their rig (the side that faces other campers). We were here in the off season (November) and it was more crowded than we expected but there were still plenty of sites.

We will stay here again because we live only 30 mins away but it’s not my favorite.
