Overall Rating

This road is located at the Panorama Trailhead for the Porter Mountain OAV area. It is an access point for not only OAV riding but hiking, mountain bike and horseback trails. Due to this it area is busy and a bit noisy. There is also a shooting range against Porter Mountain that is used daily by the locals.

The Maverick Motorized Trail is over 60 miles long and well maintained. Do not stay at the trailhead as there are no camping signs posted there, but there are plenty of locations down the road. The beginning of the trail from this trailhead is a bit rutted, but doable for most rigs. It looks as though it is graded a few times a year so this may improve as the season progresses. There are varying sized pullouts along the route that will fit most sized rigs. Within the first 2 miles there are a dozen or so sites.

The first site on the left was great for our 32 ft fifth wheel and Starlink. Cellular coverage in the area was spotty, and varied between voice only and 3 bars of Verizon 4G and 2 bars of AT&T 4G. We relied mostly on Starlink for our coverage.

I removed 2 stars for the noise in the area, but it a great place to stay for easy access to the trails.
