Two other campers stayed the night. I stayed in a spot near the entrance, right on the lake. It was quiet and dark so made for a good night’s sleep. My only negatives the amount of trash everywhere and the pit toilet - it was dirty and hadn’t been resupplied. Bring you own toilet paper.

The one in the app sent us to a private property map said to park the car lol and go find your spot. However we drove about 300/400 feet past that and there was a road we took chance to go and after 2/4 miles sure enough the lake was there. Nice place few sites , but we decided to stay by entrance next to the water as we were here only one night and there were almost nobody here . We spotter a camper cross the lake but didn’t go to check. I have no ways to change location on the app so I am writing it up here . Other than this it look a great campground to boondocks and is free . Also get two bars on AT&T.

Great little lake front camp site, fresh breeze and chirping birds for ambiance. Would be a 5 star if not for the inevitable trash we picked up…the rusting old cars on the eastern shore are a hoot!

The lake area is down a few different gravel roads, but almost any vehicle should be able to get there. There are a lot of spots that are clearly for camping if you drive back far enough, and most have decent turnaround areas for bigger trailers. We had a Subaru Outback with a 9-foot teardrop trailer and had no issues. The lake seems nice. There were several people boating and swimming in it. Overall, the place could be amazing but people seem to have used it to party and not cleaned up after themselves. There was a used diaper, lots of cigarettes and other garbage. It was pretty quiet and was overall enjoyable.

Beautiful, quiet, area! Access road is a disaster. It's firm but washboard hell! Stay on South side of you're big so you can turn around by the boat ramp.

Packers Lake is located just to the southwest of Lyman, NE. The lake is actually part of the Wyoming Game and Fish department but entry is only through the access road from Nebraska. From Hwy 92 take County Line Rd 1 south to the entrance. Watch for the signs. They are hand made pieces of plywood that say “Lake”. Easy to miss but GPS maps show the entrance road.
This lake allows camping for 5 days. No fees for camping. There is a newer vault toilet located on the north side of the lake.
It is suitable for any type of camping rig. Longer rigs would probably be better on the south east side just to the south of where you actually get to the lake on the access. No problem with top side clearance on the drive in.
If you like fishing here’s what WGF has to say:
Packers Lake
Packers Lake is located just inside the Wyoming/ Nebraska border southeast of Torrington. Packers Lake is managed by stocking walleye, black crappie, channel cat- fish and rainbow trout. It provides a unique and diverse warm water fishery. The rainbow trout are stocked in the fall to provide a fall, winter, and early spring fishery. Our sampling in 2006 included gill netting and night electrofishing. The electrofishing was attempted to gather information on largemouth bass. Forty-five largemouth bass were captured ranging in size from 2 to 14 inches. Walleye averaged 14.2 inches and about 1 pound.
