First time here. Would love to come back. Nice campground with close proximity to the ocean, Cape Kiwanda, Whalan Island, and lots to see and do in the area. Friendly staff at check-in.
We camped for a weekend in A loop, which had recently been re-graveled. We really liked it – only a few other RVs were in this loop which made it private, even though it’s an open setting. I liked being able to look out at all the beautiful tree trunks. We were in A10 pull through (no sewer). Nicely refurbished bathhouse. Used to the upper dump on our way out with ease (fyi- hose does not have a nozzle so you can’t do a black tank flush).
A loop is near the entrance and a side road, (couldn’t hear road inside the rv) surrounded on three sides by forest and stream ravine. No ocean view or sound, Which didn’t bother us because we just went to the ocean during the day.
They are doing lots of work in the campground right now. Good to see they’re making improvements. We enjoyed the hot tub and heated pool, which just opened late April.
Found a trail off the entrance road up to the lodge. Many of the other loops have sites very close together, but with good tall bushes in between creating privacy. Many of the sites are small but big rigs still found spots. No Verizon Wi-Fi, not even at the lodge. Had to go to Cape Kiwanda for reception.

This is my 1st time staying here and as a member of Thousand Trails I didn't have to pay any extra cost. My site gave me an amazing view of the ocean. On the downside of that when it's windy you definitely feel it. I paid for Internet and let's just say it works on and off.
The biggest downside I seen was someone who was obviously a tweaker with a trailer half broken down being held up with palets.
Was unable to use the pool as apparently they closed it down October 1st, makes no sense to me when that is an indoor pool and a outdoor hot tub they do keep open.
Watch is closed until apparently end of November as they are doing renovations to it.
Road definitely needs some TLC there are lots of pot wholes so take it easy.
I will still come back and camp again, staff was great, just a 1.8 miles down down the road to the local brewery and Hey stack rock.

Overall the campground is as nice as most Thousand Trails. There is no cell coverage in the campground. Free wifi is available at the lodge and you can pay to have wifi at your site but it is not reliable.
We have a TT camping pass so do not pay a nightly fee.

Pacific City Thousand Trails in Oregon offers beach access. During our stay at Pacific City Thousand Trails we could walk to the beach from the campsite. In this video, we give you a tour of campground amenities and show you some of the best campsites. We also show you a few favorite things to do in the local area to include a local state park with spectacular panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and the Oregon coast. Cellular service for Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile were spotty to nonexistent depending on the time of day and were not adequate for streaming or uploading video during our stay.

We are TT members which is why we have a "0" nightly fee. There are so many positive things about this campground but you have to come with appropriate expectations. First of all, before you drive your camper in to find a site, disconnect your car if possible and scope it out. The roads are indeed very narrow in places and not in the best of repair. You should figure out the best route to your campsite to avoid problems. There are some pretty tight turns but if we can make it with our 40ft Class A, it can be done without drama or damage. Go slow and be vigilant.
There are a lot of loops and they are each a bit different. The A loop is first and would be good for groups or if you don't want to chance the roads deeper in the park. The sites are in the forest and quite lovely. The G loop is up on the hill and some sites have stunning ocean views. Like ours! G19 which we found out is a very coveted site. I'll try to add photos. G19 fit our 40ft Class A with no problem though you need to be careful backing in (we easily had room for our SUV). The site has a lot foliage and is very private with a fire pit and great places to sit and watch the jaw dropping sunsets. G18 next door has the same jaw dropping views but is a bit shorter. We thought we might have wiggled in. Just below those sites, G24 has a beautiful ocean view but there is a permanent neighbor (I didn't think it would be any problem). G25 is right across the road and you can get a pretty good view of the coast. Since these sites are on the hill, we got intermittent text messages without a cell booster. We are having one installed this week and think we would've done ok if we'd had it. The problem is you can get small bits of data (like texts) but can't get anything more like downloading an email. Forget about looking at web sites. The lodge is just up the road and I did fine there with internet/Wifi. I had to take my laptop up there to work which wasn't great but it was worth it.
The sites up in Gloop do not have a sewer hook up. We were ok with that as we wanted that incredible view. No cell coverage in the other loops. Gotta either jump on Wifi at the lodge or the welcome center. Or go into town. I got signals on the beach too. Not quite as reliable.
C-loop is close to the beach trail and there are two sites, C15 & C14 that have views. Lastly F54 has a coastal view. The getaway cabins looked like they have great coastal views. Here's the message - those sites have the BEST views in the park but most of the campsites have a lot of foliage and that creates privacy. And they are beautiful, don't worry.
We didn't use the amenities because they are still closed due to COVID. Things looked a bit run down as many have noted. We didn't use the bathrooms at all so can't comment.
Now for the most important part...our pups. We have 2 labradoodles and they are in charge of all plans. If the place isn't good for them, we leave. Period. So here is good info: they had a BLAST. We took them to the beach everyday. We ended up liking the beach in Tiera del Mar which is just a mile or two down the road. You can drive onto the beaches around here. The sand is soft and the beaches are so wide. We had so much room to throw balls and run, run, run. Didn't find any poop left behind. It gets busy on the weekend but even then, everyone is having a great time and we had plenty of room. The beach just below the campground is great too. You can drive onto that beach but don't unless you have a 4WD because the road down is rocks and it's narrow. You don't want a car that sites low to the ground. But the good news is there is a parking lot before it gets dicey. Or just walk down. The beach in town is beautiful but obviously busier. The coast is beautiful all the way. So many places to stop and take it all in.
Pacific City is a funky little beach town. Avoid weekends as there is a paucity of parking. Go to restaurant "Grateful Bread" which is in the part of town close to the airport. Everything is delicious. Owner/staff sooooo nice. They serve breakfast and lunch. Internet is so so there. Baked goods are yum. My hubs said the smoked salmon omelette/scramble was excellent. They smoke their own salmon there! If you want to get fabulous sea food to cook at your campsite, tootle over to Lincoln City and go to Barnacle Bill's. It's excellent in every way. The salmon will make you a happy person for sure.
This is a long review because we really enjoyed this place and hope this information will help you get the most our of your visit. I would definitely go back. If you love the outdoors, the coast, the beach, this is a great location. Great places to hike and be in nature as they say.

This is not our style of campground - especially in Oregon, but... the beach was great! If you have kids this place would be great - lots for kids and families to do. We prefer quieter, less crowded places and don't need playgrounds or a pool... nice trail to the beach where our old Lab enjoyed a little water and playtime.

When making the reservation for a yurt, I asked the gentleman on the phone if there was room enough for a tent out front as well as the two cars we were allowed. Was assured plenty of room. Our yurt and the yurt next to us shared the parking which was about 15 feet wide for four vehicles. You had about 10 feet from the road to the fire pit. So, if you parked your car, you could not sit all around the fire pit. The fire pit was located just to the edge of the next spot. So not just sharing parking, they have to walk past you to their site. No place else to sit except inside. The site across the road from us was actually a worker, who left her dog in there. About 7:45 in the morning, the dog was HOWLING!! It would not stop. People tried calling the office, no answer. Finally, stopped after almost 15 minutes of this. one lady sees the lworker/owner that it belongs to, and she comes to her site and just says she doesn't hear anything. That's because it made itself horse from howling. The owner/worker then states she would close her curtains. That will make him stop. Hello??? How many times has this happened, that she knew what to do? Finally the piece de resistance - someone literally poops on the womans restroom floor. We call it in, 3 hours later, finally cleaned up. Looking at the chart, the bathrooms should be cleaned multiple times a day, but they just drew a line through on the chartand cleaned them maybe once a day on the holiday weekend.
