Oxbow Regional Park

Close to the river, mature forest and well kept campgrounds. Showers, toilet, water and well spaced sites. Bbq and table. Everyone was very quiet. We swam in the river and biked. We will be back this is a wonderful place. We had spotty Verizon 2 bar LTE with WeBoost.
They are many posted signs that no pets are allowed which is disappointing.

I live very close to this location and can tell you it's a very well kept, beautiful and visually stunning park. There are large pull through parking areas, older and well established areas for mostly smaller spaces and a pretty large number of larger spaces that are not pull through that I can still pull a 35-40' bus into and not hang out too far into the roadway. Many of the trees are very close to the road but if you're careful, you can easily drive through the area. Multiple turn outs, large company picnic areas designated for 50-100+ guests I would imagine. Baseball/softball areas, open lawns, rivers, creeks, hiking, beachfront.

CAUTION: When coming down into the Oxbo Regional Park entrance be prepared to possibly heat up your brakes a bit. There are two turn offs if you need to stop but it is relatively steep and a little twisty, take it slow and you'll be fine. The free showers with unlimited how water are great, spaces are all very well kept and clean. Rangers patrol a lot, they do and will stop and ask questions, sometimes check ID if needed, take license numbers and make sure who is in their park. They're kind but mean business.

BBQ area and fire pit provided. Fire watch may be in effect during warm summer months and they rangers will patrol and instantly put your fire out I have heard so, don't try it. They 'aint no joke!' Pricing is totally affordable and my price here was for a 35' motorhome I drove. A new camping area was just added in 2019, new office in the entrance (terrible parking for big rigs next to office so just don't block the road but take up a couple spots and move along quickly.) You used to pay at the site and a ranger collected license plate and money, now you pay at the ranger station after you enter the main gate.

Lastly, there is absolutely NO INTERNET. You are in a deep, lush, wooded valley so phone addicts...consider that you're off your fix for a while. =) Not even a signal booster got me signal. Most cell reception is lost too. I travel with my hand guns and shot guns, you may want to also for safety. I have never heard of a single problem in the park since ranger's patrol all hours. Gates are locked at 10pm and if you go out, you can't return until morning. Closest grocery stores are in Sandy, OR - (Safeway, Fred Meyer, Bi-Mart) and lot of restaurants in Sandy and a one bar in Boring, OR on your way to Oxbo on Orient Drive. Great place for camping, nice hiking trail, all very shaded, cool in the summer, cold in the winter. Very close campsites to the rushing river sounds at night. Worth the drive. A real jewel not too many actually know about. A local favorite. No fishing as I recall. No hunting. I believe pets are ok.
