Could not determine how far they were from us but we heard shots very often each morning. There’s trucks going in and out across the street. Never heard a train even though we saw tracks. There is a dumpster for trash. Rabbits and chickens and turkeys are around. This is a dry camping area. Starlink worked well here. About five minutes from town, gas, groceries, all your needs. We did stay at the blm land after and honestly I wished we had just stayed at the blm land from the beginning. Much more level, not so buggy and much more space.

We moved to this location to avoid a few days of highlands from the other near by public land. this also put us close to town (Overton) so we took advantage of getting some laundry done, groceries stocked up, and visited the very nearby Lost City Museum. There are two friendly wild roosters that seem to have taken over camp sites near us.
Due to Covid, every other campsite is closed. So space is limited.
My cell service was hit or miss.
The noise didn't both us and was only durning the week. The weekends were quiet.
This area has a covered picnic table with grill. The sites have a place to have a fire also.
The sites are very big in size that even the biggest of rigs should have no problem.

Even though free camping is fantastic, the noise was too much. The spot was nice. It has a BBQ pit, picnic table and over hang but there is so much more free camping in the area that the noise wasn’t worth the convenience.

Sites are beat down, and trashy. No toilets, water, trash cans, or hookups. Cell service seems good. My site did not have a metal fire ring. Biggest drawback is the Large active silica plant across road with lights, alarms, backup beeping all nite long. CG is adjacent to hwy so noisy but is close to Overton, which is all this place is useful for.

This was our second time staying at The Overton Wildlife Management Area. It's a convenient and FREE stop over between Vegas and St. George, Utah. Plus, it's super close to Valley of Fire.
Verizon LTE was decent - 27 down, 3 up
The site was surprisingly quiet on weekends, except for the trucks full of hunting dogs that drive by occasionally. On the weekdays things get a little louder with work trucks and trains running all hours across the road. But there was nothing that was loud enough to disrupt working or Netflix.
Each site has an awning, grill, and fire ring. The area overall offers one dumpster but there is no water or dump. The site privacy definitely varies depending on which one you get - they are all divided by trees and bushes but some of them don't plants to go back far enough into the site.

This is a decent spot but there is some noise from the concrete plant as well as road traffic. There are also train tracks, but we saw no trains over the course of three days. Additionally, the area to the east is a bird-hunting area and we did hear some gunfire from hunters early in the morning.
The cell service in this area improved since Drivin' & Vibin's review and we got great connectivity here on AT&T and Verizon and ok connectivity with T-Mobile.

Overview: There are multiple boondocking locations in Overton. This campground allows visitors to stay for free for eight consecutive days. There are six, large pull through spaces, adequate for big rigs with multiple vehicles.
Date/Temperature: October 26-28, 80 high, 47 low
Noise: A cement yard is located across the street – constant truck traffic can be heard. Beeping, rumbling, and honking is common through all hours of the day and night. It becomes easy to ignore, but it also creeps into awareness occasionally. Neighbors can be heard in casual conversation if sitting outside (tall bushes hide them from sight).
Amenities: Each spot offers a covered picnic table area and fire pit. There are no bathrooms or showers. Your RV must be self-contained to camp here.
Wifi/Cell: Our AT&T signal is strong for calls, it’s data service bounces between “E” and “3G”. Our T-Mobile hotspot gets only “2G” service. We’ve been driving 2 miles to the local McDonalds for a blazing fast Wifi connection when needed.
Grocery/Errands: There is a full size grocery store and a dollar grocery within two miles of camp. The prices were fair. However, gasoline is rather pricey here ($2.85, compared to the national average of $2.24). Propane is also available nearby.
Entertainment: The “Lost City” museum is a mile from camp. It has rebuilt ruins on display. The Valley of Fire State Park is a few miles away. There are multiple bars, including a 24 hour establishment that offers slots, and a sports bar with satellite TV. We haven’t been inside either location; enter at your own discretion.
Our Experience: We spent our time here enjoying nature, music, books, and podcasts.
