Overnite RV Park

I stayed here for 4 nights at the end of October. It is perfectly situated at the intersection of I-40 and the 335 Loop around the city. If you're coming from the north on 335, there is no visible sign and you will overshoot if not careful. The entrance is exactly opposite the Pilot gas station entrance. The office area is run down, but the campsites are in good condition and are separated by grass islands with trees. Some sites at the far end have dog runs. It is noisy. I-40 is on one side, a railroad track on the other, and it is directly in line with the runway at the city airport. If you don't like commercial and military aircraft flying over your head at 500 ft immediately prior to touchdown, this place is not for you. The airport did not operate at night while I was there.

This is an older park and in need of some renovations, but it's very close to I40 which makes it an easy on/off for an overnight stop, especially when it's too hot to boondock at a Walmart. They offer full hookups and cable, although the picture isn't that great. There's a Pilot gas station with McDonalds and Subway which makes it easy to gas/grab a bite and go. There is an airport nearby but doesn't seem to operate at all hours of the night, helping keep the noise to a minimum.
