The Lake Pomme de Terre Outlet Park is just below the dam along the Pomme de Terre River. It consists of 28 sites. 10 through 28 have 30 and 50 amp electric hookups and water. No sites have sewer hookups but there is a dump station on site. All of the sites are along the river and some have access. Keep in mind this river is directly below the dam and serves as the primary spillway, so swimming or floating could be a little risky depending on how much water is being released. It's a beautiful river just to sit and watch though. We enjoyed watching ducks, geese, numerous songbirds, squirrels and even a couple of owls that perched directly above us while we enjoyed the evening.

A few sites look like they could support a class A rig but most look best for pull behinds or tents. We saw lots of big rigs in the Dam Site Campground just on the other side of the dam. The last 10 or so sites here seemed level. The lower numbers seemed less so. We stayed at site 28, which is the last in the line. The last few sites are lined up closer to parallel so there was less privacy but there is more room here. There is a group area just beyond site 28. There were 6 or so motorcyclists staying there when we camped and they were mostly quiet and respectful. One was very sure that everyone heard his engine and stereo when he came and went. There is some road noise from the highway that goes across the dam and there's a race track nearby that we could hear on Saturday night, but it wasn't too distracting.

Other than those very minor issues, this was a great stay. There are fun things to do in the state park nearby and some good restaurants in the area as well. We'd definitely stay again.
