We just drove through, as we were wanting to see what the free campgrounds in Iowa had to offer. This one, like the other three, was beautiful, quiet and clean. To see footage of this and two other free Iowa campgrounds, you can click the link (hoping this works) or go to YouTube and look up GrassRoots Living Camping in Iowa.

“Free, but no conveniences”

Vaulted toilets with no water or sanitizer typically. This is a beautiful park with a great observation platform and trails, nice picnic areas, and just beauty of the seasons. As for camping, though, you will be hauling in water and will not have electricity. It would be almost impossible to get anything big in the spots. Probably best for a small rv or tent. But, you get what you pay for. It is free. There are only a few spots, but this is a place to only go If you are desperate or for day use. It is very quiet, as it is several miles out on the gravel.
