“Nice small state park”

Overall Rating

We stayed here for 3 nights 4 days working and relaxing. It's a very nice campground, we were on the far loop which I think is an older loop. The sites are nice size and our site (130) was tucked nicely into the backside of the loop.

Downsides:

There are train tracks very close to the campground, you cross them as you enter. So be prepared that you will probably hear the train. Camp grayling (military base) isn't far away and from time to time you'll hear them doing drills, planes and helicopters flying over.

Positives:

Hands down one of the nicest bathroom buildings I've ever seen in a Michigan State Park. The staff were super nice and friendly. The beach is amazing and there is a nice trail along the water side to get down to it.

The dog beach is far away and small, but there is one!

I have been coming to this park since I was a kid. I brought my kids here and hope to bring my grands :)
This is a great state park. Nice beach area. Large sites with clean buildings. Great experience for the kids to make friends. Road can be a bit noisy but still totally worth it.
