Loops A and B are in the North section of the Orleans Trail Park. We stayed in the B loop, however I walked through the A loop as well. The A loop is the non-electric loop. Most of the sites are set in the woods and have good amounts of shade however it appears that maintenance has been deferred because many of the pads are deteriorating. It would be difficult to get a trailer level in many of these sites. On the plus side, this loop is quite close to a swimming beach, though none of the sites are waterfront.
We stayed in the B loop which has electric as well as a shower house. However that is it for amenities. The campsites themselves are large and well-separated from the neighbors, though there is no vegetation screening you from your neighbors. The campsites consist of an L-shaped gravel pad with table and fire ring. They are large enough for any sized rigged, including a towed vehicle. In addition, there is parking on the grass alongside the pad for a boat trailer. None of the campsites actually front the water though from many you can see the water through the trees. The campground area is ringed by the access road and you must walk across it to get down to the lake shore. The lake shore itself is quite rocky making a stroll along it a challenge. Amenities in this loop are limited. There is no playground so children are forced to play on their campsites and in the campground roads. There is a beach about a half mile away, so driving is required. Similarly, boat ramps are located a few miles away and there are no facilities for mooring boats at the campground. Finally, the dump stations are also located elsewhere, so towing a blue boy full of gray water is a challenge. This campground was poorly planned and there appears to be no coherent design to the overall park.
Beerboy would stay here again
