The staff were super friendly and the site was very easy to pull through and get set up.
They are very disciplined about atv usage so you won’t find people ripping through or running engines late into the night.
The only downside was the showers were pretty small and needed tokens to operate.
Oh and there is no privacy at all from each other on the site
Stuart A would stay here again

So, although we enjoyed our son riding an ATV for the first time (great memory), I would NOT stay here unless you enjoy OHV and all their engine noise! Not our scene whatsoever! We should have researched more, too: this KOA has VERY LITTLE AMENITIES. It's ALLLL about riding your OWN ATV's or dune buggy's/side by side's. Most everyone who stayed here owned their own OHV and the crowd was fine but there's A LOT of smoking, vaping, and engines. The KOA website was also misleading: it made it seem like they now had a zip line available - but it is not available yet as of this writing (July 2022). So, that was a MAJOR bummer and our son was super upset. The jumping pad is not great, either. Playground REALLY small, and although our son enjoyed the games room with another couple of boys his age, it was a mess and all the equipment/games were REALLY dirty. Kinda gross. Felt the need to wash our hands immediately afterwards! There is a dog park. Gravel lot. Just NOT WORTH THE PRICE unless you are an avid OHV driver/rider and appreciate the easy access to the dunes. Our son rented an ATV from Steve's ATV Rentals just right next to the KOA, and they DO have a really lovely beginners track for kids who have never experienced ATV riding. Rental wasn't cheap, about $50/hour. But, we don't regret that since it is most likely a memory our son won't soon forget! Just know, if you aren't into riding the dunes - this KOA is NOT for you!

This looked like a wonderful campground for families with ATVs. Lots for kids to do and ATVs in nearly every site. Fairly noisy for us regular folk though.
Can’t say it was a bad campground. We didn’t read the description before booking. That’s on us.

Front desk was run by teenagers, which is t a bad thing, just reach them good customer service.
Store was small and stocked with necessities.
Pads are gravel and with all the atv activity, it kicked up a ton of dust because none of them observed the 5mph speed limits.
Our neighbors were super nice folks… just up all night long.

The park was pretty muddy during our stay due to significant March rain in the area. It was fine for an overnight stay but would not be a park I would stay in for longer than a night or two.
Kirk & Noel would stay here again

“Not Our Problem”
noted 2/25/2023
Major Winter storm in the entire US, and we had to cancel because 101 is closed in Northern California, called to explain that it was imposible to make it, the staff person responded, “ok, I will cancel, but we will still charge you for the night since this is not a problem related to us”. Second, this happens at a KOA, sign we need to stay away from big businesses.
