This campground was fantastic. It was clean and well put together. The roads were easy to drive on even hauling a uhaul. The bathrooms were nice and clean. We would go back and camp here again!

Oowah Lake is only 16 miles up the La Sal loop road from the south side of Moab. It's at the end of a three mile long aspen-lined dirt road that can be a little wash board-y. There are a number of hikes and mountain bike trails that are available from the lake. We took the Clark Lake loop which starts and ends at Oowah lake, especially beautiful in October with the aspens and oaks changing colors so dramatically.
Several spots surround the lake, but most of the sites are best for tent campers or those with small rigs like ours. There's a spur road that provides some privacy for those who aren't interested in a lake-side spot, and those sites were full on a mid week day in October.
There's a large gravel parking lot by the lake, and two vault toilets. Fire rings and picnic tables are provided at each of the 11 sites. If you want to be high above but still close to Moab, Oowah Lake is a great option. We had no cell phone reception at all.
Bonus alert! A bobcat sprinted across the road in front of us just as we were leaving Oowah Lake, a mile from the campground. Awesome!
Chris&David would stay here again
