This is a wonderful little county park - great location, quiet, and great service for remote work. The weekend crowd is definitely louder with lots of kids, but hey I’m just happy to see families spending their weekends outside. We have a 30ft travel trailer and the spot was plenty big and level for us!

Beautiful park that's very well maintained. Just a few short miles away from Rancho Santa Margarita. It recently made headlines for an incident with Andy Dick *lol*. You can Google that, but not much has changed. It's a little rough around the edges. I definitely wouldn't stay in anything that doesn't lock. I had a 5 night stay scheduled and skipped out after 2 nights. It's clean, beautiful, and probably safe (they maintain a strong presence and a fire station is just down the street), but I didn't feel comfortable there. I was also next to a domestic dispute and some super sketchy people.

Tons of hiking and mtn bike trails. Nice playground for the kids. Nature center and outdoor amphitheater with activities during the spring and summer. A separate equestrian area for horse camping with small arenas at each campsite. Only 10 minutes to all major shopping and amenities. Decent cell phone service. I have both T-Mobile and Verizon and they bounced back-and-forth between two bars of 5G and four bars of 4G the whole time I was here.

Right now as a childless couple with 2 dogs, it wasn't the best for us. There wasn't much privacy between sites and we could have the dogs at our site, but couldn't do trails. Dump onsite was a nice plus though.

Clean bathrooms with free showers and there are a few water spigots throughout the camp sites.

Paid $20/night for the RV and and extra $5 for our truck because it was the weekend.
Showers were nice and hot, but you got to hold the button down. Definitely some road noise and the occasional loud biker. All in all a good stay.

Note: We stayed here in a tent. We needed a campground close to LA that had good tent spots, and was in warmer location (we'd been freezing at night in some of the higher elevation campgrounds). We also really wanted good internet because we'd had none for the previous 3 days. O'Neill came up in our search and we had a great time. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful and they have some great programs in the nature center, and there are some great little trails around the park as well.
The campground has a few loops, most with really big sites (the pull-through sites are enormous), a lot of trees and level, gravel pads. There are a variety of locations and options (it's not in rows, but rather built around the trees in the park) and there are several restrooms with showers (although I had trouble getting hot water) throughout the loops.
We stayed here two weekday nights, which were super quiet and peaceful, and then one weekend night which was pretty loud. The campground really is nice and so close to some major towns, so no wonder it fills up fast. Being in a tent, it was particularly loud, but the good thing is the sites are big and well spaced.
The town of Rancho Santa Margerita is just a couple of miles up the road and they have everything you need (groceries, camping supplies, pet supplies, Starbucks... we even went out for Thai food one night and they walked it next door to the dog-friendly brewery for us to eat).
Overall, we'd definitely come back here if we needed a place in the area. Although I'd rather stay on a week night, or camp in a trailer that blocked out the noise.

Attn motorhomes with tow vehicles: You will be charged $5 a day extra for good tow behind vehicle. No exceptions. I tried to talk my way out of it but no luck.
