“Great Location Near Point Reyes ”

Reviewed Mar 26, 2019

Overall Rating

We came here in early/mid March after a couple of months of heavy rains and flooding in the area. We called in advance to pick a spot that best fit our needs and they kindly let us know it was rather muddy. We we were expecting the worse, but when we arrived it wasn’t so bad and they were diligently working to get rid of the mud and pu... more

“Well located for visiting Point Reyes”

Reviewed Nov 20, 2018

Overall Rating

The reason to stay at this campground is the proximity to Point Reyes, which is a large and sprawling park. This campground is centrally located to the various sections of the park, as well as being just a few miles from the charming town of Point Reyes Station, where there is gas, several good restaurants (try the local oysters at Caf... more

Because our family that we were visiting fails at making decisions we ended up really only being here for sleeping with bring in wine country before and the city after. However the park is nice with lots of grass and set up in little pods that make it easy to be friendly with your neighbors or keep to yourself. The camp store has a ... more

“Lovely park”

Reviewed Jun 16, 2018

We stayed only one night but for sure will be back. We have two dogs and the park was very pet friendly. The wifi was a bit slow but we were ok with it as most sites and cell services worked well enough. Our rear view dinette had a pretty view of the trees along the creek. Bathrooms exceptionally clean and with plenty of hot water. The... more

“Best in San Francisco area”

Reviewed Mar 29, 2018

Overall Rating

The morning we were scheduled to come in the whole park flooded. We had called every other park in the San Francisco area and there was nothing. The lady in the office was awesome and got us in another spot for 2 nights while the one we reserved cleared up. The spot J8 we stayed in had a lot of trees and was really nice. Although the w... more

“Convenient for exploring Point Reyes”

Reviewed Mar 09, 2018

Overall Rating

We stayed 5 nights to see the Point Reyes area. We liked it well enough to plan on visiting again next January. As has been said, it floods in the winter, but the sites near the office were fine. Mainly the tent camping was flooded. It was a bit muddy, but the site we were in was fine. The wifi internet gets overwhelmed in the evenings... more

“A bit muddy but great location”

Reviewed Feb 05, 2018

Olema campground is a little jewel of a campground right up against the Point Reyes National Seashore. Since the campground is in a watershed, over half the sites are closed due to flooding during the winter. While that makes the rest of the grounds a bit muddy, it's also never really booked full and oh, so lush and green. It was ea... more

Great campgound staff, clean facilities, hot showers, quiet, nice dog run. Easy walk to Olema Bakery for coffee & pastry. Less than 15 min to Chicken Ranch Beach (free, pets on leash), slightly further to the lovely beach at Tamales State Park. But avoid tiny site 122 which is between 2 tables, with no room to put out the awning from o... more

Expensive yes, but not that much considering the location. Sites are really large with lots of grass for your furry pets. Clean. An hour from SFO, better count two in traffic hours. Very, very quiet. We loved that.
