Question about Old Highway 89 Dispersed Camping

Ray asked on 4/18/2021

Hello all. would this be the best place to boondock with a 43 foot class A. Staying in Moab on BLM land the first 2 weeks of June then was considering the Kanab area for Zion right after. First time to Utah so any advice is greatly appreciated.

Yes, it would be a good place to stay, though the road in to the area has a couple dips and tight spots. I’d recommend scouting it out first... you could easily walk from the road entrance to the camping area.

Hello Ray, there is plenty of room at old highway 89 and plenty of turning room!! Be sure to go straight in and no turns because it dead ends and you would find yourself in the same predicament we were in!! Lol. It has a nice view from the hill!!

It is a great place and likely it would be fine for your size as long as there was availability. There was a large Class A in this area when we were here a couple weeks ago. It is about 45-60 minutes from Zion, so just be prepared for that length of a drive into Zion.
