OK first of all I grew up in this area and remember when it was operated by the state and all the facilities were run down. The only thing good about this park was it was a great lake to swim in.

WOW has that changed.

There is only one entrance but it goes to five different areas and two different lakes. The road is named after one lake "Dripping Springs."

The sign at the entrance states "Okmulgee and Dripping Springs Lake Recreational Area. It is no longer operated by the state and they do not have a reservation system. It is "first come first serve" camping.
There is a camp host and they will greet you when you find a spot.
The sites are $20 a night for RV camping.
The sites are partial hook-ups. Some have concrete pads and others have packed gravel, but all were fairly level. The RV sites have water and 30 amp power. There is a dump station on site.
There is no swimming in the RV part of the campsites but you pass a huge man-made beach area on your way in before the campgrounds.

My wife and I stayed at the Red Oak Campsite

My suggestion is to get there on a Monday-Thursday so you can beat the fisherman that come to camp over the weekend.

Chris would stay here again
