We needed a place to stop for the night and this was a perfect spot for a big rig. Easy in and out, right off the road. Tons of space, beautiful views. We would definitely stop here again.

I arrived at dusk and was pretty nervous because this was my first attempt at boondocking. There are a number of pull-offs but I didn't want to risk it and just pulled into the gravel information area. I am the only one here and can only view one other camper. I'm situated on a ledge with a great view of the hills. I don't think I have ever been in such a quiet camping spot in my life. This is probably because of the season as it appears that I'm in the middle of an ATV/off-road adventure area.
All and all a wonderful first boondocking experience!

Arrived late night a couple of rigs, not many people. Nice place to spend the night if you are on the road.

This was our first time dispersed camping on BLM land. We got here in the evening so we just drove down the road and pick the first empty spot before it got dark. It was just a gravel pull out on the side of the road with great views of the mountains and valley below. Very quiet and only a half dozen vehicles passed by in the night that I could hear. The road was scenic and easy to get to. I believe there are trails for hiking, but we didn't try any. We were just passing through.

We found this area by accident, because we missed the exit to the main highway to Vegas in Kingman. Once here and looking for boondocking spots, we found this location on our Campendium App. There are many boondocking spots, from small pullouts to large gravel areas and more remote gravel roads along the Historic Route 66, spread over maybe 10 miles. The lower sites are mostly occupied by ATV / ORV campers, and the higher sites closer to Oatman are more for people seeking quiet and isolated spaces. Highly recommended, easy to access, and plenty of history and scenery to enjoy ! Only downside: There is a lot of trash everywhere. ...

I really like this location and it is becoming one of my favorites for BLM boondocking. there are dozens of small roads and turnouts between golden shores and oatman which fall in the BLM dispersed camping zone. I believe there are two or three gravel parking lots to accommodate the biggest rigs. smaller rigs like vans and teardrops can get far from the small highway (traffic is very light through this area with maybe one car every 20 or 30 minutes on weekdays). the closer you get to oatman the more scenic and mountainous it becomes. I had great AT&T signal here.

From Topock (elevation 492) to Oatman (elevation 2710) is a 20 mile road (Rte.10) which has a plethora of pull-offs. The Topock end is mostly sand as it transitions to gravel and then rock as you climb to Oatman. The lower Topock end offers more opportunities mostly due to the flatter terrain; but most of the paths are worn and rutted by heavy atv usage, and there's not much good hiking or views. Upwards toward Oatman there's spectacular views and a lot of trails winding through the mountains and mines. The road itself is great as it meanders and winds upward, but even though there is light (and generally slow) traffic it can still be very difficult to locate the many turnoffs, so a satellite map is extremely useful. It can still get crowded up at the top too especially when its warm and mountain trails are always a gamble to drive down. Surprisingly good cell signal and less windy than anticipated.

This area is not bad, seems to be less crowded here. The views are ok, but most other spots have way better views. If you drive a mile or two down 66 it thins out more. Not much to do in the area, none of the good hikes are this way. Only 15 mins from wild donkeys in Oatman.

I'm a bit limited because of ground clearance on my class B but found a great mesa with good solar, cell signal and awesome sunset views.
