“Peaceful and pretty and free.”

We were going to camp at Potholes State Park, but the primitive sites by the water were buggy and the hook-up sites up in the amain part of the park reminded us of the suburbs. The ranger at the check-in station recommended this WA Dept. of Fish and Wildlife site so we decided to check it out. Small interconnected 'seep" lakes dot this area of eastern Washington and many have fishing access sites that allow overnight camping too. This is one such site.

Northend/Canal Lake has two outhouses (in remarkably clean condition), a fishing platform with handicap parking, a boat launch and several dispersed camp sites. There was some coming and going during the day with people driving in to fish, but both nights of our stay were quiet and peaceful. Scenery is lovely and there are miles of dirt and gravel roads to explore by car, bicycle, motorcycle, horseback or foot. Some are in better condition than others. The graded gravel road into this site was fine for our truck and 19" trailer.

You will need a Washington State discover Pass to use this site.

Has boat launch and pit toilet. Bring your own water. Several miles of gravel road to get to it. Lots of country around it for hiking. Plenty of lakes for fishing. Requires WA state Discover pass. Sorry I didn't take pics. Verizon was spotty.
